What peabrains like you don't realize is that she has defined the battlefield instead of state-controlled media.
I'm surprised that conservatives are so bought-in to the official media's prescribed process for "exploring", "announcing", "running", etc.
This process has failed us consistently, with one important exception (1980), and measures have been taken to make sure that can't happen again.
I think your idea of prepping the battlefield is exactly correct.
