'Mini-Ark' invented for tsunamis
apanese inventors have come up with a novel way for residents to save themselves if the country is struck by another deadly tsunami: a mini Ark that looks like a giant tennis ball.
Cosmo Power says it already has orders for 600 of its "Noah" shelters, which have a small lookout window and breathing holes on top, and sell for $4000 each.

Hey man you might need your shoes when the ball comes to rest somewhere.
What’s a cubit?
If I had to design an escape system for any tsunami I would go to the air, it would be a fast acting fill mechanism using helium or possibly hydrogen as it can be made cheaper though more dangerous.
Hydrogen doe have more lifting capability, and so here is the idea, its a roof mounted lightweight carbon fiber escape godola with a ducted fan engine for some means of propulsion.
Its my idea, it would work, it won’t work for the mass of population of an urban area but I could care less, its my ass.
I just cannot see any survivability from a mega tsunami of a wave over 100’ high...or larger in any type of a floating vessel. Must get above it, and to stay high until its safe to land.
Easier to just move up the hill.
about 18 inches more or less

where do ya put the beer?
should have made them coffin shaped. Laying down would be more stable. And put a day or two of water and rations and a radio beacon.
There have been worse ideas. Like the people who were trying to sell parachutes to high rise workers after 9-11.
