From the Fish and Wildlife Service: Protecting Wolves (Letter to NY Times)
NY Times ^ | October 3, 2011 | Dan Ashe, FWS

Posted on 10/04/2011 4:38:45 PM PDT by jazusamo

Your Sept. 23 editorial “Way of the Wolf in Wyoming” implies that Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and the Fish and Wildlife Service have somehow betrayed the species we worked so hard to recover. And it is recovered. Today, more than 1,650 wolves, in 244 packs, occupy the northern Rocky Mountains, exceeding recovery goals for 11 consecutive years.

We understand the emotional reaction to wolf hunting, but the facts don’t support your conclusions. Wyoming’s plan will maintain a healthy wolf population...

Good for Fish & Wildlife Director Dan Ashe for straightening out the NY Times and their enviro-nazi supporters.

Yep, it’s hard to understand a lot of the enviro nutjobs.

In the article it was stated the mosquitoes were more of a pest than a danger. If the numbers are high enough they are a huge pest but they should still be eliminated if there’s even a slight health risk.

First I read the NY Times editorial.

Then I read Dan Ashe's response.

Two things came to mind:

1) The NY Times editorial writer is a bald-faced liar.

And 2) Is it possible we could sent some surplus wolves to Central Park?

Thanks for the ping!

It is frightening that the Interior Department and it sub agencies are in charge of Parks and Wildlife. Before Yellowstone National Park burned through the stupidity and negligence of the Department, the park was being overrun by bears, buffaloes, deer and other critters. These arrogant fools always think that they are smarter than mother nature in spite of repeated massive failures and will always double down on stupidity rather than admit they were wrong. They will take the most untenable position and try to gooble-de-gook some rationale for their position.

Don’t believe me. Actual quote from a Yellowstone Park Ranger after the big bison barbecue: “If it were not for the fire all of these pine cones would not have released their seeds. It takes heat for the cones to pop open and release the seeds”. No one in the group, other than me, questioned whether pine cones could release their seeds by natural methods without a devastating fire. She wouldn’t answer the question and glared at me for the who tour.
