"While he attempts to portray Mormonism as just another Christian religion, Mitt Romney counts on his skills to shift our attention away from what he truly believes," says Tricia Erickson, author of "Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters? The Mormon Church Versus the Office of the Presidency of the United States of America."

this is why we can’t have this rino as our nominee, if the LDS church has any sense they’ll talk him out of it.

Romney might believe that he can become a god, but that asshat in our White House believes he already IS a god.

Such petty crap that was not for a minute used against Obambozo. I understand that someone asked Perry for his medical records . . . would like to get that from the last to sickos who lived in our White House. Too bad Perry doesn’t tell them to go to hell!

It wouldn’t matter what religion Slick Willard belonged to, he’s always had a megalomaniacal personality.

facts are not hysteria.

Mormons are taught that God and Jesus were once ordinary people like us.
(and, that God literally had sex with Mary)

and that they, after death, will literally become Gods themselves, ruling over their own “planet”.

...Would you care if we had a Muslim president,
who believed that all Christians go to Hell,
and that women’s opinion and vote, only counts
half that of a man’s ?

discussing the core beliefs of your future president,
is hysteria?

Personally, I think it’s Mittens who is trying to fan this into an issue. It’s not working, people don’t dislike Mitt because he’s Mormon, they dislike him because he’s unstable.

Not any more than I would care if we had a Christian president who believed all non-Christians go to Hell. Personally I leave those things up to God.

From the article...Erickson says Romney believes:

He will become a “god” in the afterlife and be given his own planet

Satan is Jesus’ literal brother

Jesus was not born of a virgin birth

He will be given his own afterlife kingdom where he will have sexual relations with his wife, Ann, to populate his kingdom with spirit children as God the Father Himself has a wife on His own planet.

The author, who herself was married in a Mormon temple at age 19 but now considers herself a non-denominational Christian, says there’s a secret agenda Mormon officials don’t like to talk about publicly.

“A complete takeover of the government,” she said. “They have more people in the CIA, the FBI. They have an employment office for Mormons in D.C. to be able to infiltrate them into the government.”

“They’ve been trying since the beginning to get someone in the presidency, because they believe they have to establish their authority so when Jesus comes to Earth, the Mormon Church will take control of the government and the Mormons will be the government of God on Earth,” she continued.

Years ago I read a number of books about the history of Mormonism. It has some very strange elements but the Mormons I have known have been some of the best, most honest upstanding people I have ever known. It would not stop me from voting for Romney in fact, nothing will stop me from voting for the Republican nominee. I am hoping we do not have a 3d party rear it's ugly head.

If what is posted is facts about mormonism, then thanks for the education

it’s odd that posting facts results in kneejerk hyperbolic defensiveness and namecalling

makes me think there is fear and secrecy

The religious nuts on FR have always been really disturbing. I went on a Perry post yesterday about that weirdo preacher who is now condemning Catholics. The posts were...Twilight Zone, lol.

Well, Ditter and I finally agree on something.

I’ve known Mormons and they’ve always seemed like nice people to me. It’s Islamists we should be united against.

This also reminds me of modern people who hate and fear Masons. I never met a Mason who wasn’t a decent person who gave lots of money to charitable causes. Go figure.
