Why did gasoline prices jump up by 25-30 cents today? Has anyone had a similar increase in your area?

Jumped 20 cents per gallon overnight in Elkhart. Surprised me this morning. It always seems to jump faster than it falls, too. Might be a Solyndra tax.

Whats new?

Everything goes up except for wages..

Imagine a slow tightening noose around the American private sector.

Sounds like a refinery outage to me. When the price goes up in parts of the country, but not in others this is the sort of thing that happens.

Saudi airforce tax. It’s to offset the disruption of oil markets when the Saudis and Israelis drop the 57 super bunker busters down the Ayatollah holes venting fresh air to their nuclear sites.

$3.259 today. Two weeks ago it was $3.299, so not much change.

Could be your winter gas blend arrived and it reflects some of the price increase. Winter blends are always higher. If there is also a shortage of winter blend, that would drive the price up as well.

It’s only $1.95 here in Texas.

Of course, here we pump it out of the ground right into our gas tanks. That’s only if you drive a diesel, though; if you’re running a gasoline engine, expect to pay about two bucks a gallon.

And of course I’m lying out my ass...

I read in the WSJ that at current prices, driving on nat gas is like buying gasoline @ $1.50 per gallon.

No wonder Honda just just put on a second shift @ the plant here in Indiana that assembles nat gas Civics.
