I don’t buy it. Some of the people shown in the bank were dressed strange (either wearing masks or their faces were painted- look at the guy at about 2:30 in the blue shirt) a couple were carrying rolled up posters. I bet this was more of OccupyWallStreet punks just going in to cause problems.

I didn't see anyone "closing their accounts." All I saw was a bunch of a-holes disturbing the peace and some idiot female going histrionic.

After watching the video, I still don’t understand why they’re being arrested.

Looking at the other videos on this channel, I would guess this is staged.

Yeah, nobody gets arrested for closing their account. If banks want to stop withdrawals, they just close the doors and shut her down.

Why are you posting this leftist garbage here? It was all over DU earlier a number of times. This is a bunch of OWS making a scene. They didn’t even have accounts there and if they wanted to close them if they did, they could do it online and get a check in the mail.

For sick.

I wouldn’t call that evidence, someone on KOS watched the video and said it was true? At that, if someone on KOS says it is true, that is almost evidence to doubt it.

Ah yes, the Kos Kommies, such a bastion of objectivity they are, lol.

Either you’ve been duped or you’ve activated a very longlived screenname. We ain’t buyin’ either way. Citi is pretty low in my estimation but they’re not stupid, and this is just that.

Like the Daily KOS is a legitimate news source. Good grief.

For what it’s worth, I closed my Wells Fargo account today and I wasn’t arrested. They didn’t even want to know why I was leaving.

They are real sickos over there.

They WANT trouble and one even mentioned a day or two ago that they needed a Kent State moment.

It’s astonishing to me that these anti-war hypocrites would feel absolute delight in violence.

Looks like an ACORN type of group tried to hold a protest and disrupt this bank branch.
Very misleading to post the title that you did; then quote a radical left wing source such as Kos.

Do you think we are stupid enough to believe customers are “arrested for closing their accounts”?
Come on.....

We we conservatives here; not radical “stick it to the man” business hating hippies.

Whoever wrote the title is absurd.

The WSJ said that they entered the bank and were disruptive. The bank closed with them inside. One person asked to close an account and was accommodated. The others were arrested without incident.

When I look at this freepers’s history, he looks like a hit-n-run poster who only occasionally comes to FR. Six month gaps in activity. Posts something kind of random and then bails. Know the type?

Get a grip Francis. That branch is within walking distance of Zuccotti Park. It was planned to start up trouble. I doubt the little darlings have Citibank accounts with more than $500 all tolled, unless mommy and daddy do their deposits.
