Maybe Ms. Palin didn’t run specifically because of attitudes like this post. People putting way too much hope in someone ‘from the government and here to help’. Look at all the comparisons that have been made, from Joan of Arc to Moses. Standards impossible to meet and it puts people looking for answers in the wrong place- in government.

This is an ongoing list of historical, popular, and Biblical people, as well as fictional characters and animals that Sarah Palin™ has been compared to on FR:

I was hoping Sarah would run also and when she finally decided not to run, I was disappointed but accepted it. A "draft-Sarah" movement doesn't really appeal to me. With respect to the presidency, you need to have the fire in the belly. I don't want to elect a reluctant president.

Since Palin's announcement, I have shifted my support over to Herman Cain, who I feel shares a lot of her attributes and who definitely does seem to have some fire in the belly.

I wish Sarah well in her future endeavors and I suspect we will hear a lot more from her down the road.

This post is For Mrs. Palin, feel free to add any comments, the only ones that matter come from the Lady.....

Please alert us when "the Lady" responds to an Internet post from a self-professed swinger, aka wife swapper.
One can only imagine the depraved fantasies you have about her.

MNEHRING, spot on. At this time we need to put our faith in on person, but that person is not a human being. The problem with both the left and right, rich and poor, and nearly all among us is, looking for a human solution. Of course we can improve our decisions, and decision makers, along with the body of laws. We just cannot put our hope in what one man can do. That way leads madness, despotism and frankly where we have come to now. It is is the Bible, that man would reject the rule of Judges and Prophets sent by God, for a man "like the other nations". Saul was the first, a keeper of the "asses", a fine and comely man, with the sensibilities of an idiot. Even David, a man after Gods own heart, had his own weakness that disqualifies himself from being the "perfect candidate".

The problem is within the system itself. The judicial system that uses "precedence" instead of strict rule of law. The education system, that allows teachers to give their highest loyalty to the union. The monetary system, set upon the "sand" of fiat money and the way lobbyists are sanctified as the reason for the first amendment, when in fact they represent graft and corruption.

The problem is not just within the system, but also with the 53% of the fools in the American electorate who voted the Marxist into office.

My take is that Palin has better things to do than lower herself into this cesspool.

I agree 100%.

The problem with seeking public office in the modern era is that the process has become so filthy and corrupt that most (not all) honest, decent people want nothing to do with it.

At one time I was naive enough to think it had become that way by acts of omission or inattentiveness on the part of good people.

Now I know that it is intentional.

The few good people that brave the system and do make it through the process to win an election and take office are soon suborned by the corrupt old pols or trashed by the same old pols with the willing assistance of the media.

Apparently not, but this one goes beyond entertainment into the realm of the surreal.

Any day a person acquires new socks is a very good day.

And that makes me smile.
