Maybe Ms. Palin didn’t run specifically because of attitudes like this post. People putting way too much hope in someone ‘from the government and here to help’. Look at all the comparisons that have been made, from Joan of Arc to Moses. Standards impossible to meet and it puts people looking for answers in the wrong place- in government.

Look at all the comparisons that have been made, from Joan of Arc to Moses. None of them particularly apt, either.
Me, I think she's kinda like Voltron.

MNEHRING, spot on. At this time we need to put our faith in on person, but that person is not a human being. The problem with both the left and right, rich and poor, and nearly all among us is, looking for a human solution. Of course we can improve our decisions, and decision makers, along with the body of laws. We just cannot put our hope in what one man can do. That way leads madness, despotism and frankly where we have come to now. It is is the Bible, that man would reject the rule of Judges and Prophets sent by God, for a man "like the other nations". Saul was the first, a keeper of the "asses", a fine and comely man, with the sensibilities of an idiot. Even David, a man after Gods own heart, had his own weakness that disqualifies himself from being the "perfect candidate".
The problem is within the system itself. The judicial system that uses "precedence" instead of strict rule of law. The education system, that allows teachers to give their highest loyalty to the union. The monetary system, set upon the "sand" of fiat money and the way lobbyists are sanctified as the reason for the first amendment, when in fact they represent graft and corruption.
