Short and Succinct Thoughts on Tonight's Debate Part II (Vanity)
October 18, 2011 | Self (Vanity)

Posted on 10/18/2011 7:01:22 PM PDT by katieanna

Greetings Friends, Neighbors and Fellow Citizens!

Come one, come all and give your summary of the debate tonight.

Looking forward to the commentary and I bid you all good evening.

My analysis:

Romney- dishonest and irritating as usual. Will not support. Cain- like a lot; but he means on the job training. No amateur hour. Perry- genuine. He stepped up tonight finally. Executive experience. I support

Santorum- Don't think there's much chance there

Michelle- Shrill, whiney. Five years in congress is not enough experience

Gingrich- Excellent. Can support.

Ron Paul- has got to go. Flat a**ed crazy.

Sarah certainly agrees with you on your Newt comments. She very solidly remarked on his solution oriented speak. Greta interviewed her as well as Newt tonight.

NEWT GINGRICH ... I see a thread in many many replies.

Erudite, cool under fire, adult, brilliant, excellent, smart, smooth, firm, unwavering... all in reference to Newt Gingrich.

Other than sitting with Nancy on globull warming and his wives and failing to impeach Clintoon (Senate does this actually)... what has he done wrong? He is the only candidate that has not yet stepped on his ...

So far, he is the best candidate I can see for hire. He is a CO that needs a very energetic, smart, willing XO to close and act on his ideas because he doesn’t have the time to close them before moving on to something new. He is a good idea man who needs a great helper(s)

Newt is mesmerizing in these debates. Love to listen to him. Brilliant on any subject tossed at him. Hope he is close to whoever is nominated.

There are no winners and if this debate frenzy keep up, a Republican win in November becomes less likely. People are tuning the candidates out...they are beginning to wear thin and opening themselves to ridicule. The debates have become a glossy circular firing squad. . I suspect Zero is starting to breath a sigh of relief. Collectively, they should agree to one or two more debates and can it.

Likewise. Gingrich is the over achieving underdog you can really root for. Probably not a prayer of a chance. I’m not swept away by him or anything like that but he actually looks Presidential to me. He stands out as well kept and fully assembled for the combat.

I wonder if Gingrich has the energy or the fire in his belly to be a great candidate?

I’m really afraid it is Cain in the end and pray it is not Romney... he is a fake pretty boy. Disingenuous to the core.

Cain needs better handlers and needs to listen more and talk less. He isn’t as smart as he thinks he is. Cain would work hard to be a good candidate but I wonder if his stamina will hold out?

Perry is struggling, he is monodimensional... we created a lot of jobs in Texas... rather be lucky than smart anytime. I don’t think he is a terrible candidate just not a great one and I don’t think he can win against obastard.

Bachman is light weight and shrill but a patriot. Can’t win.

Santorum ... just angry and a little immature. Can’t win.

Paul is the perennial fruit cake. I don’t know why he keeps running or how he gets money. Can’t win.

“Collectively, they should agree to one or two more debates and can it.”

I second that.

The media overrates the debates because the media controls them.

Now that the media is out of the closet socialist, the GOP needs to change to professional debaters asking questions and leave the media out. They can broadcast on youtube and other spots on the net. Even Fox makes a bozo show out of the Republican debates.

Anderson Cooper was annoying.

Running the debate, he had a lot to do with the outcome. Why does the GOP let gay communists run their debates?

It looks to be about time to take stock of exactly what the “baggage” that Newt carries amounts to. He endorsed global warming (so perhaps he knows better now). He has a problem with adultery (Hopefully he’s too old to stray now). He supported Scuzzafaza (can you spell it)? I feel pretty sure he regrets that endorsement. Anything else? Most of us are pretty certain that he is basically a good conservative. He knows history and how to avoid repeating it. He knows the ropes in D.C., and he can probably get Sarah’s endorsement. He looks to me like the only viable candidate we have. I think I could vote for him if Sarah endorsed him. I won’t be voting for any of the others.

‘Perry - genuine.’

Saw him in person a few weeks ago.
He addressed a crowd of about 400.
‘Genuine’ was my first impression.
Debate not his forum - talking to us was different.

Not actively supporting anyone yet, but tend toward Cain. Had been waiting for Sarah.

Have always liked Gingrich. Also saw him in person a few years ago and told him this family would have supported him had he run in 2008. . . so blame us for his running this time!
Always enjoy waiting to hear what he has to say, and how he says it! Never disappoints.
Nourishment For The Ears.
The vision of him sitting with N. Pelousy, is
f-a-d-i-n-g . . . (I hated that combination, too. Was shocked! But when you think of it, it’s sort of hilarious, those 2 on the same couch. . .)

Santorum - watched him ‘up and come’ over the years, thought he was doing well, but now he seems/sounds totally desparate.

An aside - in this day and age, believe many vote for someone who looks good on TV. It’s been this way for years.
Besides other negatives, Ron Paul, appears almost sickly - probably age, and bad posture. Wouldn’t LOOK strong up against some world leaders. Even the squirt of Iran looks healthier.

Nothing new, but to a degree, charisma counts.

I am supporting Cain because he has lot of common sense, business sense, and is a dependable conservative. Perry is OK but hurt by the tuition break to illegals meme and the heartless comment. Newt has the best intellect and knowledge of congress.

A Cain-Newt ticket would energize voters for sure.

Agreed. Would love to see the two of them combining talents to guide US. With Cain setting the direction and Newt navigating, I would be very happy. If Newt is not on the ticket, any nominee being elected and not making Newt Secretary of State would make a huge mistake. Other nominees not making the ticket would do well to accept Cabinet posts as well. Egos must be set aside and the nominees unit to save and guide America. Do a good job and advance on the ticket in the future.
