It is your dog that you should worry about. Cat bits and scratches are highly infectious (Especially in humans, if you are bit go to the er, you will not be able to clean it on your own and you need to be on meds now, do not delay)
I hope all goes well and the cat is okay.
I think the cat is basking in the glory of whipping your dog in his own yard. We have a neighbor cat like that.
I don’t think you need to worry about the cat.
Sounds like it is sick. It may be worth the money to know if you and your dog may be exposed to rabies.
Worry about the dog. Got bit by a cat and had to have a shot in my butt because the bite went septic in a day. Cat may be internally injured our broken ribs. Either way,$
You question if the cat were going to have kittens. Does it appear to be pregnant?
Well, I have had cats and dogs (some at the same time). I can tell you that a cat won’t attack a dog. It would have to be pretty sick. I can also tell you that a dog is no match for an adult cat if it hasn’t been DE-clawed.
Thanks. I’m fine, the dog seems to have two slight scratches, one below each eye and one bled a tiny bit, which we immediately cleaned. I hope there’s no infection.
There’s nothing wrong with the cat. It won the fight, it knows it and it likes people.
I don’t think so, but it is a HUGE cat with tons of fur, I didn’t feel anything moving in it’s lower regions and haven’t found any nipples, but it’s either pregnant or ate another cat!
If you have one of those cones and some anti bacterial ointment, you could put just a tiny dab on your finger tip and put some on the scratches and then use the cone to prevent your dog from wiping it off.
As for the cat it sounds like it is ok and not in need of an emergency vet visit. I’m think it came across the dog by accident and got scared.
FRiend, I do believe that you’ve just been adopted.
P.S. It might help if you posted pix.
A coyote will even eat the meow put of a cat.
Clean your dog’s wounds thoroughly..really!
Sounds like the kitty may be lost..put a bowl of water nearby.
Cats sometimes try to hide symptoms. I’d be worried because of the lack of movement, which is not typical of cats.
Well, a big cat normally means a well fed one. He may have a family nearby. Cats will hide their hurts really well. If he refuses food and water, then he may be hurt.
Sounds like you may have just been claimed by a cat. They do that. Best thing to do is to submit. LOL
My Cat must have missed that memo. Though he doesn't cause any damage, he will often pounce on our dog just to annoy him, or sneak up on him and give him a good swat with the paw.
