Just Say "So?" Campaign (vanity - our necessary response to Cain "scandals")
Fertile brain | 11/2/11 | Self

Posted on 11/02/2011 10:07:58 AM PDT by Yaelle

If we do not want the mainstream media to choose our candidate, we need to fight the forest and not the trees. If the media has their way, they will control the whole story. Their story will be "Herman Cain did X. We will investigate. Is this story true? If so, he is done."

They want us to jump into their story and try to prove the accusation is false. That is their paradigm, not ours.

It is simple to control the story, but we have to avoid falling for theirs. Our story, no matter what they say, has to be "When the media attacks Cain, we ignore it and donate to him."

With this offensive, on our terms, we won't get Borked or Thomased. They will try to sling anything onto Cain. It doesn't matter whether the accusations are true or not. There are worse stories about Obama out there and he is definitely a nominee for 2012. So the accusations don't matter.

If we continue to fight the media in this way, we will have a conservative as our nominee. If we don't, we won't. Don't let the talking heads choose the candidates on both sides.

When they say "Herman Cain did x," we say, "So??"

Just keep saying "So!". And keep donating $9.99.

It may be a vanity, but the “Just Say “So?” campaign is important to control the story as they come after Cain. For your list.

I agree - we're allowing them to control the dialogue, and if we do that, they'll win.

Sure they have the big guns, since they control traditional media, but the Brits had the big guns too and we cleaned their clock through creative guerrilla warfare

This battle will be won if we fight smart and take to the jungles of Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.

I am not saying Newt and Perry are out. But if they were the front runners, the media would be after them the same. It is time for conservatives to contest the whole story, rather than constantly falling for the media’s “When did you stop beating your wife?” tactics.

There are WAY worse stories about all the Demorats....zero and Clinton are the worst!!!! and the MSM is silent.

My rule—if the MSM is outraged, I embrace whomever they are truly outraged at, because cockroaches can NEVER stand the light and truth, so will try to take anyone down—and there is no perfect person on earth. FBI files were combed by Hillary decades ago and she should be in prison.....but silence.......by MSM.

All I know is that Cain is WAY closer to perfect and a Capitalist, than the Satanist/Marxists zero and clinton, who both worship on the altar of Baal and have sold their souls to the Devil.

Yes. We must control the dialog.

Twitter bugs me because of all the negativity there, and media koolaid drinkers who get all their info from comedy shows. But we can counteract them with Alinsky because they love to dish out sarcastic mocking but can’t take it very well! Be polite but sharp.

Listening too.

I am so proud that we supporters are finally learning not to fold like a cheap chair the moment “something” is brought up about one of ours! Herman had his two best campaign donation days yesterday and Monday.

I love that he said that racism isn’t as much on the right as on the left! Say it, Herman! (rush just played this quote)

Exactly right. Every time Cain’s group calls, it’s $10-$20.

Exactly. Democrats and the media try to control the issue to their advantage. Remember "move on" when Clinton was caught with his pants down in the White house? Remember how he can "compartmentalize" so it won't affect his job? Remember the woman's rights activist saying that "the greater good" or "the big picture" is what we should be concerned with?
And all of that was for something that actually happened.

With Cain we are hearing about some vague allegations which happened over twenty years ago and are disputed. It clearly isn't important and you can bet that the democrats are only concerned with their "big picture".

When I was in HR, we would get rid of a mid level manager we didn’t like with a 6 month salary severance. It’s pretty common. But remember, what happened with this harassment thing is the dialogue those who don’t want Cain around has chosen.

So we need to not care about it! I know it’s different for us, but this is how the Dems get to always keep their candidates of choice! They don’t even talk about the scandals or let it influence them. Weiner is one of the few they got rid of.

So just tell everyone re this harassment thing, “So?”

Yes, exactly!

Tell ‘em we don’t want to discuss Cain’s past unless they also discuss Obama’s! What happened all those times teenaged Barack was alone with his admitted pedophile mentor? Whatever happened to Donald Young, the gay choir director, who went rogue and confessed to Larry Sinclair that Obama was only trying to get info out of Sinclair, and then was murdered within the week? Why did the president seal all his school records? Why does he use someone else’s social security number? Etc.

Rush just saud the lawyer representing this trollop no longer has the file and he doesn't remember handling her case.

The file is gone. It's 12 years old.

This thing is DEAD.

The WAPO omitted that part in its story the second time around.

Kaslin will post Rush's transcript later today.

And usually we just hang our heads in shame and fold. This time we conservatives didn’t fold! We fought back!

Just say, “So?” and donate! It’s easy and we win!

Great idea. How about a twitter hashtag:

#So?

As a single line response to indicate we’re not playing the media games anymore.

Yes.

With this caveat: of course we have to first evaluate whatever negative information is brought up about our candidates. If, having done so in a reasonable (non-Jerry Springer celebrity-crime mentality frenzy) way, a person concludes that the incident does not impugn the candidate's character or conduct, THEN the response from there on out should be exactly as you say:

SO.

The less we talk about this and try to call out the LSM or blame someone for bringing up stuff that actually happened, the more we are cooperating in actings as PROPS in the LEFT'S DESTRUCTIVE POLITICAL THEATER.

A lively debate on just this same idea is here:

Hermain Cain is Reckless and Arrogant. (Do yourself a favor and skip the vanity post that started it all. Go straight to the comments.)

Politico reported (buried in a story) that they interviewed the HR director at the time and she didn't remember any complaints being filed at all against Herman Cain -- that's how inconsequential and "business as usual" this all was.

Sorry, I can't put my hands on the link right now. I posted it on the thread I crosslinked to upthread here.
