Congrats to the Dugger Family on their new addition on the way. New life is always a good thing! Life is sacred to me—when its from a good Christian family or even a Bimbet like the Octomom—Baby’s are a positive thing. What was God’s first commandment to Adam and Eve? Be fruitful and multiply—the Duggers are doing this. Would that more Americans were half as as fruitful as this couple.

They’ll have to incorporate as their own town soon. ;~)

If you are into real parenting, you can raise better kids in a big family.

They don’t grow up thinking they are the center of the universe.

Likely the kids will be well equipped functional adults instead of thinking the world owes them an living like the Occupy scum.

No money from the government and very well educated and well adjusted kids. In our society, I guess that makes them freaks.

Even more, I actually bothered watching a few clips, where yes, the older kids do plenty of work helping their little siblings out. Smart idea, coming from someone who just barely got introduced to the Duggar family not so long ago, if plenty of families actually expected some family obligations from the kids, perhaps plenty of adults would come out of the kids who understood the concept.

I knew a family living in rural New York near Albany that had 10, and we are talking the late 1980s/early 90s. But the Duggar family blows even that family I knew out of the water, so to speak. I mean 20 kids? What’s even more impressive is how the family is well built on kids helping care for younger kids, a good idea for plenty of families to raise their kids.

Scary thing is the fact that she does not look like plenty of 45+ year-old women I know, same with the Father. Whatever they do, I am willing to bet their probably also pretty fit and eat healthy too.

What a shi**y attitude. The kids are well adjusted and well mannered. Much more than you can say for much of the youth today. They’re being taught responsibility, too. Which I understand the world often equates with child abuse these days. God bless...

I’m surprised her womb hasn’t collapsed from so much use. I had a cousin who had 4 babies in 4 years and she almost lost the 4th one because her uterus was weakening. I realize that all of our bodies are different, I would think that somewhere around the 13th or 14th child, her body would start rebelling. I guess not.

Well you have a point however, look what is happening. We have a terrible President. We have a Republican primary where they are trying to push for a RINO and the economy stinks. Why not be grouchy?

Congratulations to the Duggars. The comments on the other sites are very nasty, and I am disappointed to see some here as well. The Duggars are a wonderful family. My mom and I had an opportunity to meet them at a book signing they did, and they are such a polite, well-mannered family. Jim Bob and Michelle were very kind and offered to take a picture with us, but we didn’t have a camera with us. Seeing their show every week, you can see what a good, loving family they are. If more families were like the Duggars, we’d have a much better world today. God said to be fruitful and multiply and that children are a gift. They truly believe that, and that’s important in a culture where there are 1.2 million children aborted every year.

All the hollering about overpopulation is ridiculous as this country is only barely at replacement level, and that’s due to immigration. European countries are nearly all well below replacement level. Western civilization is literally going to be replaced by immigration from third world countries and Muslims who are having large families.

Excellent post.

I know the oldest son has married and started his own family, but I suspect some of the daughters will ultimately decide not to follow their mother’s lead. I’m sure they love their younger siblings, but the endless housework, baby-minding, and lack of privacy has to get old after a while. I wouldn’t blame them if they just want a more active social life, some stylish clothes, a cute hairstyle, and a bit of time for themselves.

The Duggar family appears to be doing very well, but their lifestyle isn’t for everyone.

Being grouch doesn't fit you. I have always enjoyed your post.

I have a terminal lung disease and am on 02 24/7. Even with all of the crap going on in the world and especially in the US, life is good. I live in West Tn. the color on the trees are just magnificent. It is almost the middle of Nov, and I was able to sit outside in the 76 degree sunshine. I have grown children that have never given me a minutes trouble. I have 7 grandchildren 6 are adults who love me and spend time with me.

One of my boys is fixing to make Lt. Commander

I refuse to spend my last days in a bad mood.

Life is good for me and it is for you as well.

Maria

Exactly. Today’s children call the shots. Leads to narcissism like the one we have in the White House who was pitied instead of parented.

On the other hand, he better hope she never divorces him. Although he CAN support the children now, he’d never be able to pay the “child” support should she, at some point decide that “he no longer fulfills my dreams.”

What happened to “go out and multiply”?

You obviously have never run afoul (i.e. be a white hetero male) of the secular "family" court system.

Octomom = 8 kids done for publicity and financial gain = bad

Duggars = 20 kids done for publicity and financial gain = good?

The logic of you cheerleaders for endless reproduction escapes me.
