VANDALIA, Ohio A Vandalia family is in shock when a man broke into their house, made himself at home and even put up Christmas decorations.
Police said the man's strange behavior may involve bath salts.
According to police, an 11-year-old child came home and found a stranger sitting on the couch.
Tamara Henderson was next door when her son call her.
She said, "What do you mean a man is in our house? You don't know if he has a gun or if he has a knife?"
Henderson called 911 and screamed for her neighbors.
Police reports indicated that 44-year-old Terry Trent did have a pocket knife and was most likely on bath salts. They said Trent walked through a back door and made himself comfortable.
"The candle was lit on the coffee table, the television was on and very loud, and the candle on the kitchen table was lit," Henderson said.
He also did some Christmas decorating, police said.

Wow... I have had dreams like this! Someone comes into my house and cleans it for me. They even do the windows and cooks dinner.”
If that happened here, it would mean that I am in the wrong house.
You’re a hoot, Cripplecreek!
“Mephadrone is naturallly found in many kinds of bath salts”
Sorry, no, this is a synthetic ampetamine analog. Real bath salts are actually salts with a bit of perfume in them, and sometimes oil.
I recall a news item about this very recently. The drug is being smuggled into this country as bath salts and many other “products”.
Pretty nasty unpredictable reactions.
LOL! Of course, on a serious note, those “bath salts” are very dangerous and cause hallucinations not unlike people on PCP or LSD. You do NOT want that person putting up your decorations, let alone lighting candles.
It shouldn’t have been a surprise in a town named VANDALia!
You don’t have to smuggle it. It’s not listed, or “scheduled” in the USA, so you can go to a lab and order 10 kilos of it, have it shipped to a state that has not made it illegal. As long as all the documentation says “research chemical” and “not for human consumption”, there is not much the cops can do.
You used to be able to do this with 5-methoxy diisopropyltryptamine (Foxy Methoxy) but it got put on the list. Up until that point, you could order it online.
The Bath Salts people have been aggressively marketing it, and their little packets make distribution easy. Eventually it will be Emergency Scheduled then permanently scheduled, then it will be as hard to get as marijuana or heroin.
According to Wikipedia, it does occur in some bath salts. It’s just that some meth head, looking for a high and was short his drug of choice, tried it out and it worked.
They do that.
Drug addicts will try just about anything when they need their high and their dealer isn’t selling to them.
Oops, I was wrong, just looked at DEA and they DID emergency schedule it Oct 21, 2011. It’s now a Federal Schedule 1 drug like marijuana, cocaine, and heroin. They issues a one-year ban and put it under study.
Good Info...Although I did find
“Eventually it will be Emergency Scheduled then permanently scheduled, then it will be as hard to get as marijuana or heroin.” kinda humorous. ;-)
It’s funny, though, many of the drugs recently scheduled have pretty much disappeared, unlike maryjane or horse. I guess there was never a big international business behind stuff like Foxy or IT-290.
And MDPV HAS been temporarily scheduled, as of last October.
I think people who think marijuana should be as hard to get as heroin are on bath salts.
“I think people who think marijuana should be as hard to get as heroin are on bath salts.”
This sort of thinking is like bath salts in your jenkem.
Did he pay any bills? Maybe he can stay awhile! lol
They should throw the book at him!
It is way way too early for Christmas Decorations.
War against Christmas Decoration.
Gives a whole new meaning to...Calgon take me away.
