A 20-year-old video clip of Barack Obama hit YouTube on Thursday. The future president appeared on a televised Black History Minutes segment in 1991, the same year he graduated from Harvard law school.
The early video, originally broadcast by TBS as a public service announcement, may have been Obamas first-ever appearance on national television. http://dailycaller.com/2011/11/17/early-video-of-obama-surfaces-from-harvard-law-school-era/

So, was TOTUS in operation back then for the idiot to read off of?
Here’s a live link for that video:

Yeah, so when does the LA SLIMES release that video of Hussein laughing it up at the birthday party for the Palestinian Jew hater?

Meh.
What were his grades like at Harvard? I’m tired of the Lamestream telling me how smart he was/is.
I’ll state it like a Missourian: Show me!
He sounds a lot more “normal” in speech pattern back then. He’s worked on that preacher voice and speech pattern since. Still seemed arrogant, but that’s a given for those spots. Hard to be unbiased given the feelings I have towards him and the things we know about him now...
His presentation is a bit wooden in the video, but he also comes off as a lot more genuine than he does now.
He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, so that's top 10%. A FR member from HLS school in the 1988-91 era can tell us if class participation counted during that period; a decade earlier, being prepared and presenting in class was a large part of your grade at Harvard Business School but only exams counted toward your grade at the Law School (unless my memory is really fuzzy).
The reason I say that is his reputation at Harvard was to blather on and on in class discussions. But I believe he earned his grades at Harvard with blue-book essay exams graded by numbered identifier, not by name.
Obama graduated from Columbia without any honors, so his GPA was under a 3.3. He should never have gotten in to Harvard Law School with a GPA under 3.3. I don't care what he scored on the LSAT. Harvard could have filled its 500-student (if I'm remembering correctly) first-year class with near-perfect LSATs and 3.9 GPAs from outstanding undergraduate schools.
Affirmative action, a legacy (father a graduate), recommendations from the the appropriate people. I don't know. But under a 3.3 GPA? Nope. Shouldn't happen.
He is 1/2 black, they should have given him 30 seconds

He was reading the entire delivery. So even since 1991, he can’t say an intelligent sentence live without reading it. So much for “communication skills”. I don’t think he could tell you his favorite color if it wasn’t pulled from a teleprompter.
I fell asleep.
Forget Chauncey Gardiner from “Being There.”
Barry reminds me of the Will Smith character (Paul) in the movie “Six Degrees of Separation.”
Rich, white-guilt liberals fall all over themselves for young, black, gay, con-man who claims to be Sidney Poitier’s son and a close college friend of their own son.

“Paul proves to be a sharp-witted, learned young man with epicurean taste and surprising culinary skill. His highbrow façade is so charmingly persuasive, Paul soon has the Kittredges lending him money, putting him up for the night and taking satisfaction in his appraisal of their posh lifestyle.”
The movie is based on a true story.

David Hampton (April 4, 1964 July 18, 2003) was an American con artist who gained infamy in the 1980s after milking a group of wealthy Manhattanites out of thousands of dollars by convincing them he was Sidney Poitier’s son. His story became the inspiration for a play and later a movie, titled Six Degrees of Separation.
SNIP
Hampton began employing the persona of “David Poitier” to cadge free meals in restaurants. He also persuaded at least a dozen people into letting him stay with them in their homes or to give him money, including Melanie Griffith; Gary Sinise; Calvin Klein; John Jay Iselin, the president of WNET; Osborn Elliott, the dean of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism; and a Manhattan urologist. He told some of them that he was a friend of their children, some that he had just missed his plane to Los Angeles and that all his luggage was on it, some that his belongings had been stolen.
