Landlord John Miller will miss Thanksgiving at home this year after what may be Central Florida's first case of eviction rage ending in attempted-murder charges.

Miller remains held without bail in the Orange County Jail after crushing a mobile home with a large front-end loader while a terrified child cowered inside as a woman tried to save her, according to Sheriff's Office records.

"Good, then I got what I wanted," Miller, 51, said after deputies told him the roof had collapsed and the small trailer was uninhabitable.

The attack began Tuesday afternoon on West Ponkan Road near Apopka when 911 calls reported the Mount Dora landlord had been chasing his tenants with a front-end loader after destroying their home rather than waiting for them to leave Dec. 1. He previously has been charged with refusing to vaccinate a dog or cat against rabies as well as firing a gun in public, records show.

I'm the same way when I don't get my coffee in the morning.

Out comes the bulldozer.

That point can be easily investigated. If she didn’t pay her rent, then she can be kicked out. No problem But if she was current, then he had no right to do anything like what he did.
And even if she was behind on her rent, he can call the sheriff’s department to get her out. That’s one of the things they do there. Enforcing legal orders of eviction. Some states even allow you to go into the property and take stuff like the TV to hold until the rent is paid. He could have done that too. But he endangered the lives of everyone in the place and probably adversely affected his own life by doing this stupid act.
So... yay that woman and her family are out. But he’ll spend a lot of time behind bars, won’t be able to rent out that place to someone else, and will probably lose that land.
Way to go.

You’re right, because I carefully vet the people to whom I rent. I wouldn’t rent to anyone I didn’t trust. I’d let my property sit empty first.

I’ve had landlords that are worse.

No dear someone referred to as a professional renter can survive an eviction. All one has to do is get pregnant or a myriad of other things that invalidate an order.Even just cleaning to be pregnant will halt any action by a sheriff in serving orders. Many of you seem ignorant of landlord tenant laws.

So did we even running credit checks on people and background checks. Some day someone will get through. We no longer rent because the laws are so heavily weighted on the side of the tenant.

Is that like being a little bit pregnant?

I still think he was trying to scare the living daylights out of them and not kill them. Whether you are trying to scare or prank some one some times they can get carried away which can lead to death. You didn’t see the tenants become a little bit dead, did you? No, just a scared. They will be better paying tenants from now on to whom ever they rent from in the future.

That’s not what happened in this case. The guy just went bonkers and destroyed that place. He could have done it right and saved himself a lot of headache. Now she is probably going to end up owning his property after she sues his ass for nearly killing her kid. And it’s going to be difficult for him to defend himself in the lawsuit since he is most likely going to be in jail.

And you know that how? Because the story was wrote in a left wing manner to make the tenant look sympathetic? No I’ve known a lot of landlords in my time and when they get to this point it is normally after months and months of expense trying to get rid of a non paying tenant.I seriously doubt that there is much to take from the man and if he has never been in trouble before don’t be surprised if he serves 30 days or less. When you are at the end of your rope and take the evidence in with you about the abuses the tenant has committed seldom is it held against you.You can have your opinion I’m telling you what actually happens.

I’m just going by what I read in the article. If you have another source of information that I don’t, please feel free to share. But the way it stands now, she looks like she’s been paying her bills. The article says that she is current on her rent. And unless she’s doing something horrible to the property (loud music, Obama signs in the front yard) I don’t see the problem with her.

Found another article.
http://www.wesh.com/r/29846458/detail.html

If you don’t want to go there, here’s what I’m pointing to:

“The two said it wasn’t about rent, but rather a dispute over a table between the tenants and landlord that got out of hand.”

And he is being charged with attempted murder. That’s not the left wing media saying that’s what happened. That the state AG’s office saying that. The Florida AG is a Republican named Pam Bondi.
Everything I’m reading shows this was not “months and months” of trying to get his tenant out. They got into an arguement about a TABLE. He wanted her out, and she said that she’d be out by Dec. 1st. Probably because that was when her apartment was going to be ready. There is nothing on his side that was justify what he did. Even if you thought that it was ok to destroy the trailer, when he was told that there is a child inside he needed to stop.
“After Peach rushed in to help, the roof collapsed and the walls came down, but that didn’t stop Miller, Peach said.
It was only the threat of death via a Sheriff’s deputy’s rifle that got him to stop. Not a mother’s pleading voice.
The guy’s scum. He’s facing 25 to life. And good riddance.
