I do not personally know the author, she's a friend of a friend of a friend, who has written this wonderful children story about adoption. She was inspired to write the story after her own experiences in adopting her son earlier this year. Cute story, good for kids but unrealistic.
In real life, nature is a mean mother. Mama Polar Bear would quickly kill little brown bear, eat him and feed her cubs the leftovers!
