If the other DVD disk fails to play, and you cannot get a directory listing using Windows Explorer, you may need to replace the drive. Six year old DVD drives are not particularly reliable. New DVD burner drives are very cheap these days, under $30, and they are usually (but not always) fairly easy for you to replace yourself.
