The People Who Hate Tim Tebow

I've just watched the Denver Broncos defeat the Minnesota Vikings, 35-32. Tebow was awful in the first half, passing for just 13 yards. He was quite good in the second half, finishing 10-of-15 for the game and completing three passes of more than 20 yards, a minor achievement he hadn't accomplished all year. The Broncos won by intercepting a pass in the final minute and kicking an easy field goal, so it would be misleading and reactionary and inaccurate to say that Tebow won them the game. But Tebow won them the game.

It can also as easily be said that Ponder lost the game.

I do not dislike Tebow for his religion. In fact that might be the only thing that I DO like about him. I dislike him because he is;

A) A Bronco.

B) Pretending to be an NFL QB.

C) Getting far more press than he should be.

Finally...Bronco fans have something to get excited about. It's been too long.

So I guess if Tebow was a wife beating doper thug he would be a NFL (and media) hero.
Because he’s a good christian man he’s vilified by the pukes in the media.
I hope he has a hall of fame career and makes all these vermin eat crow.

Ponder is from FSU. (See my screen name). Btw, he is a great kid too. Earned his masters and was a stand up kid....

Funny how critics blast his passing stats and don’t mention his running stats, but guys like Cordell Stewart and Michael Vick add a “new dimension” to the QB position. A little soft bigotry, perhaps?

Tebow has a better starting record than Elway did.

I hate Tim Tebow because he found a way to beat my lowly Vikings even though I predicted it. I wish folks would leave him alone. He has and awesome grasp of his faith and is an uberleader. God forbid he would run for President the press would nail him to a cross virtual or literally if they could get away with it. However Lord knows we need a leader more than anything or anyone else and the Broncos have a leader.

The team wouldn’t play for Orton. They play very hard for Tebow. If they make the playoffs the Broncos will get eaten alive in the first round, but that’s a better result than Orton was headed toward.

The Broncos are funn to watch again, and that’s all that matters to Broncos fans. Broncos fans are quite used to being dissed by the rest of the country and the sports media, we thrive on that.

Anybody remember the nightclub in Lakewood where patrons would throw a brick through a TV every Monday night while Cosell did the halftime highlights? Circa 1977.

I am a Viking fan retired here in FL which is Tebow country and am glad the Vikings got Ponder who will surpass Tebow in the pros methinks. They are both fun to watch and I know Broncos fans are looking forward to Sundays once again. Tebow is a great story and improving game by game and has the aid of a very good defense that toke last week off and he still found a way to win.

All his critics keep saying he can’t pass, he cant throw deep, but against Minnesota he threw multiple long passes and for TD’s. His stats looked like Ben Roethlisberger’s when all the pundits were saying that when Ben only throws 20 passes or less the Steelers are unbeatable.

How many years did Rodgers have training before he finally took the helm? Tebow has had no training camp, no time with the first string, it’s his first year in the NFL and he is kicking ass. Just not the way the geniuses want him to to validate their genius.

I’ll give you “A.” but as far as the other reasons: B. He is a NFL QB; that’s the position listed on the Broncos roster, /sarc... and C. Tebow is not calling press conference after press conference - he’s not asking to be put in the spotlight. The media is the one you should dislike.

B) Pretending to be an NFL QB. What do you mean by that? Are you on drugs?

Getting very tired of hearing that Tebow does not fit the mold/have the pedigree of an NFL quarterback. Sounds like the inside the beltway Republican establishment and the MSM saying a candidate is unelectable because he/she doesn’t fit the mold/have the pedigree of a President.

At first they said he couldn’t play in the NFL... now he does.
Then they said he couldn’t win in the NFL... now he does.
Now they are saying he can’t win a superbowl... after less than a full season as a starter.

For a lesson on a Super Bowl winning quarterback with minimal statistical contribution, check out Trent Dilfer’s stats in the 2000-01 Raven Super Bowl run...in a division playoff game, he was 5 for 16 for 117 yards; in the SB, he was 12 for 25 for 153 yards... proof that a quarterback does not have to win a game/title... just needs to be certain he doesn’t lose it.

And Tebow’s greatest asset is his ability to make those aound him believe in themselves and each other... to get the most out of their abilities, and succeed. It is a team game.

Sounds like a political figure in the past who didn’t fit the “mold” and couldn’t win... Ronald Reagan.

Like Reagan, against the naysayers in the press, public and football circles , Tebow is proving them wrong. He is a winner.

throw a brick through a TV every Monday night while Cosell did the halftime highlights?

Oh yeah, I remember that! "Howwad" as he pronounced his own name, sounded like a broken record as he again and again called our beloved Orange Crush an "opportunistic" team.

His usage was in the context of a second-rate team that only thrives when it can feed on the tragic mistakes made by its betters. So Cossell's bottom line was that the Broncos weren't good enough to win on their own, but could only do so when the first-rate teams made mistakes that we then rushed in to capitalize on. So the other teams were the Noble Hunters, while the Broncos were the vultures, hyenas, jackals, wolfpack/sharkpack, bottom-feeders constantly nipping at the heels of the Truly Great Competitors and occasionally bringing them down by dumb luck.

Wherever you are at this moment ...... Put a Brick in it, Howwad.
