He was only trying to make a folksy appeal to conservative Christians in Iowa.
And what he had to say was unlikely to cause much controversy with the evangelicals who dominate the Republican Party's caucuses there.
But when Presidential hopeful Rick Perry donned a brown jacket and spoke to the camera for his latest campaign ad he didn't expect to be so widely mocked.

Similar ... not same. Besides, Perry’s been wearing this same jacket for years. Probably even before Brokeback hit the theaters. And another besides ... I know a lot of folks that wear similar jackets. Brokeback didn’t invent them.
