Oh man. What a comedian. I loved watching him. I'd laugh so hard the 'tears' would roll down my leg.

No school like the Old School.

He was at the time funny, but I must tell you it’s kind of agonizing to watch him now doing the drunk routine, as with the publicity of drunk driving etc.

I remember he used to tell jokes like this one about his Polish brothers-in-law.

(Paraphrasing) "One of my wife's brothers was a captain in the Polish space agency. The other day he tells me they're going to be the first astronauts to go to the sun."

I said: "To the SUN? Are you crazy? You'll burn up before you get halfway there!"

My brother-in-law says "We're going at night!".

Then there’s this one...complete with the drunk act, of course:

“Some of you may not know it, but I’ve been married more than once. In fact I’ve been married THREE times.

My first wife died from eating poisoned mushrooms...and my second wife died from a fractured skull.

She wouldn’t eat her mushrooms.”

I must tell you that during 9/11, somebody got the idea to cast the movie. Somebody came up with Foster Brooks as Teddy Kennedy. First time I laughed in a week - thanks to Mr. Brooks and that great freeper.

See if you can find the Coast Guard small boat safety PSA. It is a real PSA and has me rolling every time I hear it.

Self depricating humor is often the toughest because it involves some sense of tragedy but often the funniest because everybody can relate to it. Foster Brooks was a very funny guy.

Every time I drive through Bradford PA, I think of him. There is an exit off the 219 called Foster Brooks Blvd. He was one of a kind.

Oh God, I did that playing nickel/dime poker with some guys at the NCO Academy. Some one asked me if I had ever been married and I went into that joke, telling it like it was my life, proper dramatic pauses as they were sucked in to my terrible tragedy.

When I hit them with the punchline, the shocked disbelief on their faces was priceless, right before they broke into the laughter of people that had been had, and loved every second of a good gag

He was one of a kind.

You'll get a kick out of him talking about his Buffalo in-laws.

well, how about we all have Bananas Foster to mark the anniversary!

And pay no attention to it being named for a different Foster; they were both brothers from another mother.

He was a serious singer...and quite good.

I remember getting some prime seats at a Los Angeles Rams game where he sat three away from me - and he sang the National Anthem....as it should be sung.
