It really doesn’t matter why businesses buy them, other than that the typical business person happens to be conservative. The biggest demographic that buys the Iphone are those that are college age. Those in the college age group tend to lean to the left.

It’s not a political statement to buy any particular product, but when a person does buy a particular product, there are commonalities that often exist with other people who bought the same product.

For example, one reason why women wil buy an iphone is because it works. Most women just want their tech products to work. They don’t care too much about tinkering with it, they just want to use it.

On the other hand, many men do like to tinker with their tech toys, so the appeal of Android phones is that you can root them and customize them, so you will find that a man is more likely the user of an Android phone.

The most absurd part of this is the grudge he has carried for 25 years about something that was trivial for most people even when it happened back in 1985, and the notion that it has a single thing to do with today’s Apple.

I say, how did this thread ever get along without out a pic of Foghorn Leghorn....

Now if my phone was to ever have issues with lint in it's fiddlies, I say, I think I'd consider washing my pockets. Just sayin'.

As far as cell phones are concerned, it has been achieved. When a statistically normal high quality battery dies, the phone is obsolete and upgrade costs mitigated. That vs the costs of making the battery user replaceable (several extra layers of packaging, air gaps, connectors, battery sales, counterfeiting, etc) makes a fixed battery more practical.

Yes it does matter you pinhead, there are technical reasons behind its use and those reasons are now obsolete and every blackberry owner I know use them because they have to, not out of choice, enterprises are slowly ditching the RIM products because they are technologically behind the curve.

By your stupid reasoning Obama is a conservative because he uses one.

Epic Logic FAIL.

Basically everything in is post is wrong. The iPhond audio plug works easily all the time. Of course since it is also an iPod with a simple audio cable you can plug this into any aux jack including in your car and you have all your songs as well as a phone. I use the audio to play web radio in my car so I get Rush and Mark Levin wherever I am with perfect reception. I have had several iPhones with zero battery issues. In fact the iPhone batterynlasts about twice as long as any other phone that is used for data access. And the iPhone is the best digital camera that you will always have in your pocket. And a GPS system. And email. And you can go online and make an appointment at the Apple store in those rare events when you have an issue. I did it the other day to get a Mac problem solved. Used the iPhone to make the appointment while I was driving to the store. Making appointments means you don’t have to wait. It’s actually a much smarter and more customer friendly way of handling problems. No waits - instant service. I think the poster was harboring a 25 year old grudge because of some erroneous idea he has about Atari. That’s OK. I think he would be better of with a pay phone

So you got a new phone today? And you started a thread about it to bitch about the old one? Really?

Lol! I have had nothing but great experience with iPhones since the first one I bought three years ago. And you couldn’t pry my iPad away from me. This whole thread is just stupid. What is the point? Does the OP believe he is a better person for not having an IPhone anymore? Me thinks he doth protest too much!

I notice there is a certain type of person who likes Microsoft PCs, maybe builds his own, might be an IT person. These people have a visceral hatred of Apple. They prefer having a computer that they can load virus protection software on and update annually and occasionally have to “wipe the disk” than getting a Mac which doesn’t get viruses. They prefer Android (made by Google founders Page and Brin - radical right wingers) because Apple is a leftist company. And they don’t like Apple being “closed” which means it’s products are not virus prone. They prefer Android which is free, virus prone, and comes in many different versions meaning software developers have to write custom code for each manufacturer. The don’t like Apple because hundreds of millions of people buy and love the products. You can find these people hanging out in the Windows store, or the Google store. One person you won’t find there is Rush Limbaugh, Apple’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Just trying to do a public service and warn others about an inferior product. For instance, this thread might prevent your parents from getting you an Iphone for your 13'th birthday, that would be a pretty good thing, no?

That headphone thing happens with my MacBook Pro, but it’s two years old.

It is intermittent, but annoying. I have found that a hard burst of air into the port usually fixes it.

Others have suggested putting the jack in and out off the port several times resets it. That sometimes works for me as well.

I use earphones a lot with my computer when hubby is watching a TV program I’m not interested so, so I stream video.
