A Queens man is very upset after trying to put his trash out for collection and ending up with a ticket.
He, and others, are getting snared in an enforcement of a law that few people even know exists.
The scrooge award goes to the New York City Sanitation Department for the $100 tickets.
Raymond Janson says he received the $100 fine for putting his garbage cans at the curb 30 minutes early.
It is legal to put out the trash cans the day before pick-up but the time of the day matters. City sanitation rules say the cans can be put out no earlier than 4:00 p.m. from October 1st to April 1st. Janson's ticket was written at 3:27 p.m.
"What, do they sit down the block waiting so they can go catch all of those criminals?" Janson asked. He wasn't aware of the city ordinance and was upset that he didn't get a warning. He plans to fight his ticket.
Last week, an elderly Brooklyn woman was ticketed for not having a lid on her trash cans. The woman says she doesn't even own trash cans and her nephew takes her trash from her home. She is fighting the $300 ticket.

Since they added the “NY Responsibility Fee” to traffic tickets [which doubled the cost of a speeding ticket to over $400] fewer people are speeding- but the cops still need to make their quota, so they are driving around stalking good citizens, without a criminal intent in their body, in order to catch you breaking SOME minor traffic infraction so they can fine you. (I got a ticket for not using my turn signal to change lanes- when there was no one behing me - and when I was trying to move left to give the nice police officer the safety of a free lane)
I relized recently I spend almot 25% of my income on state taxes, fees, fines, permits, park entrance fees, parking tickets, insurances, property taxes, school taxes, etc etc etc. And when I tried to report fraud, waste, and govt abuse I got attacked by the people in the government who are supposed to be working FOR us.
When I leave I am going to write a nice FU and GOODBYE NY open letter to all the major newspapers.

How can you get a ticket for a non-existent trash can? Or does it exist?
A couple of years back, Bloomberg’s goons were going around fining people sitting on those plastic cartons you can buy in the stores for $10 or so. It seems some business was delivering their goods in them, and because they were so handy, people were keeping and using them for other purposes. The guy in question was sitting on one in front of his bodega and got ticketed.
The ticket is for not having a lid on her trash can. If she doesn't have a trash can, that's just proof that she doesn't have a lid either. She should pay her fine and then vote to re-elect the nice mayor who is providing for her quality of life with this effort.
I got a $75 ticket 2 years ago for my neighbor’s trash can.
My neighbor did not get home early enough to retrieve his trashcan within the allotted time and after dumping the trash the sanitation workers left his can 2 or 3 feet onto the edge of my property. The Buffalo Trash Gestapo mailed me a $75 ticket. I fought it and won my case in court, but all that did was to have them re-issue the ticket to my neighbor. I sold the property a year ago and left the city.
Come to Texas. Bring your guns. If you don’t have any, buy them here. We may be the last state standing...

Yep - defecating on a police car is acceptable behavior. You see - the NYPD doesn’t have any real crime to fight, so they must write tickets for the peons who put their trash can where it belongs just a few minutes early... that and old widows who don’t even have trash cans...
