My wife adopted a feral orange striped male. Nick named him Booger Head. He slept inside the carport, until we enclosed it and put a garage door on it. I had the contractor put in a cat door. Once the garage was closed in, Booger learned to use the cat door and come inside for tuna and crunchies. Then he found that the coziest spot was on top of my Vette car cover. Yup. The critter slept on the lid of my Vette for the remainder of his life. Feral though he was, he soon wrapped his tail around all of us as he walked and stalked.
Well, he's gone over Rainbow Bridge now. So's my wife. Sold the Vette to pay med bills.
We still have the cat door in the garage though.

My late MIL had a Siamese cat, Loa, who loved to wrap herself around the coffee pot (an electric one, not the stove top kind), and sleep there. I don’t know how she never got burned, but if you were looking for her on a cold day, she would be cozying up to the coffee pot.
Thanks for the pings.
