Granny Ruth departed this earth for her heavenly home sometime over the Christmas weekend. Heaven's gain is Free Republic's loss. She was a wonderful freeper and friend to many.

I'm so sad to hear this news. What a wonderful friend she was to me for so many years here.

The wisdom she shared with me on so many topics, and aspects of life, as well as the emotional support, and all of the interesting and humorous conversations we had will be remembered for a lifetime, and the wisdom and advice will certainly be passed to my daughters as well.

There is so much more I would want to say - I think I'm in shock (combined with the ear infections I have) and it is making it hard to think of the words to say.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones, as well as the large number of FReepers here who have been blessed to call her their friend.

To all of you,

I can only say thank you, for your friendship and loving all these years, for the prayers that kept me going the last 7 years and will go with me all the days that are left to me.

I am sorry to not be able to write to each of you, but typing is now a pain for me and I avoid doing so, if possible.

My prayer for all of you is that you will be able to be safe and happy, in this world of today.

Thank you for posting this, Velveeta. I sent her hard copies of many of the prayers you all offered on her behalf because she was not getting on the computer much during this time. She was so appreciative of her many friends here on Free Republic and their loving kindness toward her. She told me several times, “Do not underestimate the prayers of freepers; they have sustained me for many years.”
