Nigeria Declares State of Emergency

Islamist violence has forced NIgerian President Goodluck Jonathan to declare a state of emergency and order the closure of part of the country's borders.

Jonathan announced the emergency measures Saturday, labeling the Islamist sect Boko Haram a "cancer" that threatened to destroy Africa's most populated body after a deadly week in which scores were killed by the radical Islamist terror group Boko Haram.

Speaking in a broadcast to the nation, the president said, "It has become imperative to take some decisive measures to restore normalcy in the country, especially within the affected communities..." He listed parts of the states of Niger, Yobe, Plateau and Borno -- where Boko Haram has its traditional stronghold.

Jonathan also ordered the shutdown of land borders between the affected areas to control "cross-border terrorist activities."

“As soon as the government troops start killing them Obama will call for a truce.”

Entire villages of them will be transported to the US and put on lifetime welfare.

Meanwhile....

Not a peep (surprise, surprise) from out Islamic Jihadist Appeaser in Chief or his puppet Sec State, Her Highness Madame Cankles, about the attacks on Christians in Nigeria.

Heck, though there are over 30 International Terrorist Organization named by Foggy Bottom who are Islamist related, the Barbaric Boko Boys don't even make the cut.

But then again O'Bummer continue to advance the FAUX narrative that we are NOT at war against Islam; the Tally-Ban are not our enemies and the only Organization/Group which poses a threat is "Al-Qaeda."

Ha. That’s what we ought to be doing HERE, and in Europe. Declaring an emergency and shutting down the damn borders!!

At least the Nigerian leader has balls.

I’m glad he’s taking some action, although it’s probably a little too late. I think the fact that some of the Christian groups who were the targets of the Islamic attacks are talking about taking arms and fighting back may have scared him.

It will be interesting to see the US reaction. I betcha we’ll criticize him for doing this and will not support it.

Somehow unsurprising for the complete lack of the cojones to mention the jihadi islamic violence. Mr. O continues his tradition of performing the best Carter/Chamberlain impersonation he can.

Thank God that the White House released a statement condemning the violence. I was afraid that the US would not do anything.

I particularly liked this part: We have been in contact with Nigerian officials about what initially appear to be terrorist acts ...

What "initially appear to be terrorist acts"....??? Give me a break. But of course for the State Dept to say even that much probably made them feel as if their fingernails were being ripped out.

labeling the Islamist sect Boko Haram a "cancer" that threatened to destroy Africa's most populated body

They are just following the instructions in their holy books. Islam is evil and needs to be eradicated.

The Koran:

Sura (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution of Muslims is worse than slaughter of non-believers...and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."

Sura (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…"

Sura (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Sura (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah"

Sura (8:57) - "If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember."

Sura (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, even if they are of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Sura (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"

Sura (47:4) - "So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make them prisoners,"

Sura (61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way"

Sura (66:9) - "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end

From the Hadith:

Bukhari (8:387) - Allah's Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah’”

Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, "Kill any Jew who falls under your power."

Ibn Ishaq: 327 - “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”

Ibn Ishaq: 992 - "Fight everyone in the way of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah."

The Koran and hadiths are replete with examples of Muhammad's barbaric behavior. Robert Spencer does a good job here explaining Islam - Blogging the Qur’an Start at the bottom.

But.. those borders are as safe as they've ever been! Sue the pants off of any local who tries to close those borders!

I won’t print what I’m thinking when it comes to that statement. Let’s just say it is both unChristian and unladylike in the extreme.

Who cares about Nigeria. It is probably the largest cesspool in the world.

By the way, did any of you receive the same email I got from the king’s brother in Nigeria with a hell of a good deal to make some big bucks?

I think I’ll have to look into that. /sarc

When I wonder will it occur to the victims of these simians to start targeting and taking out the imams and mullahs that spread this disease?

Damned right. And the UN will issue a condemnation and an embargo as well. Any action by a Christian President to put a stop to Islamist massacres and genocide in his own country is necessarily going to be threatened by Barack Obama, given a stern letter from Jimmy Carter--you know, the guy who writes to Commander in Chief of the World's Largest Gulag-- North Korea, and harassed by the US Mass Media and the UN.

If Barack Obama or his State Department so much as open their trap about this for one second, it should IMMEDIATELY be made a political issue in the GOP Nomination. Santorum strikes me as the kind of guy to bring it up, maybe Perry, too. (Romney would be a p'ssy)

The Nigerian border is over 2700 miles long.
The U.S. - Mexican border is less than 2000 miles long.

Nigeria is more powerful than the USA.
