I know this guy, runs a Military surplus out near where I grew up, he volunteer for 3 or 4 tours of Nam, married a (very sweet) Vietnamese woman and brought her and her whole family over to the US. Back in the 80’s he was dog catcher. He got fired because he took dogs home to feed the inlaws rather than to the pound.

Nice enough guy, but crazy. You don’t move too fast around him and if you know him and ask for something he usually comes back “do you want legal or illegal”.
