It just occured to me that although I've been enjoying this site for a long time I've never passed on the link.
This site has owners manuals for many older cameras and flashes.
It's free to download but the site is supported by donations, so kick in a couple of bucks.
If you've ever tried to hunt down an old manual the value of this collection is obvious.

Contemplating any winter photo shoots? Some of us are awfully used to the wildlife shots you so generously supply. I guess I could have had about twenty golden eagle shots as we cruised back through WY last week. Unfortunately it would have meant stopping twenty times, seriously extending the trip time, and who knows if Mr or Mrs Eagle would have been cooperative, as they were fence posting about fifty feet from the highway.

On a sad note, I think my Nikon D60 is dying and I’m going to have to get a new camera. I kind of have my sites set on a D7000... ;)
Hi fellow Nikon lovers :-)
Now no offense is meant - in any way - as the D7000 is a great camera and has every bell, whistle, and switch imaginable on it. But, a D7000 body is $1300.00 by itself. While an 'equivalent D60 Nikon' is the D3000, which body only, can be bought for under $400.00 (per a quick Bing search). That's a HUGH difference for getting a few added goodies in a camera.
Granted I am prejudiced as I have the D3000 and absolutely love it (plus my trusty old Nikon FE). But selecting the D3000 wasn't by accident, I could have went D3100 or D5000 at the time. However I am a 'minimalist, old school', kind of photographer. When I shoot Photos I want to use a 'camera' and for videos, well, you use a 'camcorder'. So IMHO the fewer bells, whistles, and switches on a 'camera' the better. Like 'live view', what Photographer really needs it? The only thing the D3000 took me getting used to over my Nikon FE was going from a 100% Viewfinder coverage down the 98% with the D3000. But I quickly overcame that little composition issue.
So throwing my $.02 in I'd think twice about jumping from a D60 to the D7000. The D3000 basically has every feature of the D60 and is 1/3rd the cost. They are almost identical spec wise. And with that $800+ savings you can buy a lot of extra goodies like a lens, new flash, tripod, whatever. Did I mention I'm 'cost conscience' too ;-)
Again, no offense meant, all Nikons are great and the only brand 'allowed' in my family for 30+ years now). So brytlea, IMHO chose whichever Nikon fits your photography needs the best, not necessarily which is the 'cooler' or fancier. After all Photography isn't an American Idol contest (or Photobucket - never, never, EVER again will I do that. Cell Phone 'cameras' arrrgh!!)

An aside: Kodak going bust really bums me out. I love their Portra Film line which I use in my FE, plus in my 'tank', my Pentax Spotmatic II. If they stop making that I'll cringe having to change film brands. (like going from Chevy to Ford (or vise-versa) back in the 'olden days')
Oh, and I also bought 'for my wife' a Nikon CoolPix P100 which takes videos, has live view, and the LCD screen tilts and swivels - kinda like on a D7000, so I have those bases covered if needed (plus it has one heck of a 26X tele lens).
I’m not getting out much, we are running the wheels off the car just getting people to work. We barely kept one family car over the last year, and I don’t see things getting better in the Obama economy.
It has been tough for all of us...but I really miss your photos on this site.

This is where I bought my WEIN Safe Sync. B&H Photo. Direct link to B&H Safe Sync webpage. It was the best $50.00 I spent for my Nikon D3000.First, B&H is the best photo store I've found since all the 'pro' stores in my area of IL went 'amateur' and I couldn't even get any Kodak Portra Film. And the B&H customer service is tops, most items ship free and no sales tax unless you live in NY. Just note that they're an Orthodox Jewish owned Co and observe every Jewish Holy Day. Like now, you can't order until after sunset (they have the time noted on their website).
And here is a link to a 'Blog' where I found which has the info on old Strobe Units and their Trigger Voltage Outputs. Some old Strobes put out 600Volts when triggered - OUCH! ;-)
The second link's info saved me for sure from frying my camera. Or any digital I mount my Sunpak on. Like 'the wife's' Nikon Coolpix P100.
I am still trying to decide if I want to keep my 35mm gear or not. Good Strobes are expensive and I would love to re-purpose the one I have. I could do it with just a sync cord and manual settings, but it would be nice to use TTL metering if possible.

D5100 has some fairly amazing HD 1080P video capacity.
Not a bad mid-market camera to shoot, with the additional bells and whistles available.
Even though it isn’t competitive with real cinema photography, it probably is a nice segue into that domain for a still photographer.

Since I often have to research online for obsolete equipment manuals and PDFs for my customers in the course of my work, I routinely encounter foreign and domestic “scam” websites that are riddled with serious problems for end users.
