On New Years Day, NBC honking head Andrea Mitchell tried making America hip to the Hawkeye States unforgivable lack of hipness:
The rap on Iowa: it doesnt represent the rest of the countrytoo white, too evangelical, too rural.
This isnt the first time Ms. Mitchellpresumably a reporter rather than some wacked-out urban-supremacist sockpuppethas made such a statement. In 2008 she chuckled while wondering why Barack Obama would bother to campaign in Southwest Virginia:
This is real [laughs] redneck, sort of, um, bordering on Appalachia country.

Two uninteresting facts about Andrea Mitchell ~ (1) She’s a Fascist, and (2) She’s a pig.
If Andrea Mitchell caught on fire
Well, they are Caucusians.
Mitchell personifies what’s wrong with the MSM: arrogant, isolated, narrowly educated.
Mitchell is as stupid as she is ugly. Ever see her in profile? Woof! Besides, Iowa is fairly liberal as the midwest goes. Let her go to Oklahoma and spew her elitist crap and see what happens.
And she's white! Probably a rich whitey too!
They haven’t started busing Blacks in?
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
They would probably pass an actual law banning her from re-entering the State.
.
Obama carried IA in 2008, if he loses it in 2012 it is his fault.
The rap on Mitchell: she is too stupid. Making disparaging statements about states Obama needs to win is not helpful.
Andrea Mitchell is Mrs. Alan Greenspan.
Detroit too black? Is she dumber than a box of rocks or what? And to think there are some conservatives who think she is something to be respected, now that is a sin.
Honestly what do these reporters expect? If blacks are only 18% of 300,000,000 that means that many places would not have anyone nearby who was black. What do liberal reporters want? Blacks to live on busses to get place to place?
Since it’s just one state over, why doesn’t she wonder why Chicago is so black?
Hmm?
I’ve said it before; as a group Manhattan dwellers are the most provincial, bigoted, and closed minded bunch of Wahoos you’ll ever find. ...And I’m a NYer!
It anguishes me to even glancingly defend Andrea M., but I believe she was merely explaining why the population of Iowa, demographically and culturally speaking, should not be taken as representative of the population of America, taken as a whole. She was not opining that she would prefer Iowa to be less white, less Christian, or less rural, or that Iowa ought to be chastized or dissed for being what it is.
Incidentally, I like Iowa as she is. But, then, my Minnesota cousins say that the best thing to come out of Iowa is I-35, and next Michelle Bachman.
