I need a verification on a yiddish term, “shpilkis”... ants in the pants kind of thing? everything yiddish that i know, i learned in law school, so it’s been a while. this was just used in my fave hockey blog and i literally howled out loud when i saw it.
I was explaining Yiddish to my daughter the other day. “There are a lot of common words we borrow from Yiddish. Most of them are words for ‘penis’ or ‘butthole.’”
You got “shpilkis” exactly correct: ants in the pants. As in, “My brother-in-law has shpilkis. He can’t sit still for five minutes.”
