I don’t see any beating taking place. For example, where is the photo of the mark left on Ms. Nelson’s face -— by “militarized law enforcement” -— or anywhere on her body, for that matter, by a “beating?”

Because of camera angle, we can’t see the exact move that brought Ms. Nelson down, but apparently, it did not leave a mark.

I like cops, but boy, I like the cell phone video cameras even more.

They need classes for the cops and deputies: “You have no expectation of privacy while you are performing your job. Don’t hassle the guys with the phone cams, except maybe to get their personal info if you need the video for evidence.”

Yep. It’s sad that this needs to be said, though.

Cell phone video cameras can be a good asset for cops as evidence that they did *not* engage in a given criminal behavior.

They should encourage the public to videotape them.

This reminds me of a scene in MIB where they have a room full of monster cutouts and one of a little girl with chemistry books. Its a test of MIB applicants.

Its the little girl popup that gets nailed in the head, does anyone know why?

Quite frankly if I saw something that strange I would get away real fast, situational awareness, its the new trend.

Well, that (the deputies demanding the camera) could be corroborated by witnesses one way or the other. It wouldn’t make sense for a man to lie about it, but then sense is never guaranteed.

In any case that the man still kept the camera is the stronger evidence that the deputies didn’t demand it of him. Could be the one deputy first did demand it, but then backed off, perhaps realizing as he made the demand that it was not a lawful demand.
