Fox News: Obama Vetoes Keystone Pipeline
Fox News Channel (live) | 1/18/12

Apparently, The One couldn't wait until February after he saw his latest polling score. The Greeniacs clearly have him by the shorts. Will be interesting to see union reaction.

The loss of jobs alone from this project should sink Obama, but when gasoline hits $4+ gallon as the Iranian’s close the Straits of Hormuz and Canada sells its oil to China, mobs with pitchforks and torches should be gathering at the White House.

They should. but they won’t.

The takers don’t care. Just load the EBT card.

The producers won’t be able to afford the fuel to get there.

I hear and respect your argument. And you could prove being correct. however, I think this was a MAJOR GOP blunder. Even if they were going to do this ... push the decision closer to the election. At this stage, not only is the electorate NOT going to give two hoots about this issue, the liberal base is happy.

This was misguided foolishness by the GOP. Most people could care less.

NO president should have this much power over the future of the United States on such pivotal issues of national security and the economy.

We no longer have a president we have a DICTATOR.

He does not have this much power according to the Constitution.

He stole it. It’s up to bonehead to start the impeachment hearings.

I won’t hold my breath.

Dear Fox News,

If you are reading this post, please get your pencil ready.

ONLY CONGRESS can make trade rules, according to the Constitution.

Since the owner of your company, Fox News, is from another country, he may not expect you to know, or want you to know, how your government is designed to work, but the American people expect more from you than that.

Do not assume, because the president is usurping authority, that you should ignore it, or that the American people approve of his action.

Instead please change your headline to “President interferes with the duties of Congress and creates a Constitutional Crisis over the Keystone pipeline”.

That headline would be accurate, fair, and balanced.

Thank you for your time,
Sincerely,
America

I wish we had anyone running our country other than the dipstick we have.

My ten year old Grand daughter could do better.

I doubt your granddaughter would be a more ruthless dictator than Obama.

“Well this is good news, from a political prospective, it means that Obama is so afraid of losing his radical left wing that he can’t move to the center. It also means that Republicans have a huge bludgeon to hit him with from now to election day anytime he tries to paint himself as the jobs president. I hope the commercials start rolling tomorrow...”

First, if the Republicans are true to form, they will do nothing to capitalize on this decision. You will hear outrage for a couple of days and then nothing. The press will push it under the rug and it will be forgotten by the election no matter what the Canadians do. The leftist greens have won and the country will suffer by not reducing its dependence on oil from Venezuela and the Arab states. China will benefit as the Canadians export to the west instead of south.

Second, if the Republicans were serious in opposition, Boehner would call the House of Representatives into emergency session, pass a bill to require the President to approve the pipeline, and then personally carry it over to Harry Reid and demand a Senate vote. The Republican candidates for President and every GOP Senator and Representative would issue press releases everyday demanding action by the Democrats. The mainstream press would be hard pressed to ignore this kind of aggressive and concerted action.

Unfortunately, the Republicans don’t have the spine to fight nor do they have the public relations skills to pull it off. By next week we will be back to business as normal.

Good choice because you would simply turn blue and nobody would care.

Impeachment starts in the Senate an Reed will never bring charges of impeachment against obsstard.... never.

Oddly, the Colonial Pipeline is perfectly OK... the "pipeline of prosperity."

But the Keystone XL Pipeline is horrid... the "pipeline of death."

What is the difference?

Boehner just ripped Obozo a new one in a suddenly called news conference. He was followed by an AR congressman until Fox left for other news. Rosen finished by stating that this immediately kills 20,000 jobs and by 2015 will have killed 340,000 jobs. Of course, Axelrod is already busy spinning this for the Rancid Media later tonight as a great victory for Obozo and the country.

Non OPEC nations produce more oil than OPEC nations do.

Use the same reasoning you applied to my statements. There are 106 Non-OPEC oil producing nations, OPEC has 12.

But in spite of all that, nearly half (47% of the last 6 months) of our crude oil imports, comes from OPEC member nations.

We are far too dependent upon nations that are not our allies for our vital energy source.

This was misguided foolishness by the GOP. Most people could care less.

If most people could care less about the pipeline, then the timing doesn't/wouldn't matter.

The odds of this not becoming a major issue in the election are zero...starting with the next Republican debate.

Expect the Canadians to start building a pipeline to their west coast to export the oil to China now.

It was reported on some program I was listening to this morning that Harper said the US could try to make a National Park out of this country, but that wasn't going to apply to Canada.

Don't have a reference; I was just amused when this was reported.

Agreed....anything bad he does between now and November is good for us.

As long as our nominee has the cajones to use it.

The oil is for China no matter where the pipeline is built.

Should have added...it is good for us so long as his blunders are reversible - like this veto of the pipeline.

Heard on the news this morning that Canada is talking to China about taking this oil.
