My son just showed it to me, and I thought I would share it.

I met the most wonderful home schooled young nurse when I was in the hospital.

Need to send that to my Parents and sisters so maybe they’ll stop with all those kinds of questions.

I don’t homeschool, but I know families that do.

The greatest misconception I had years ago is the amount of time needed to homeschool. I assumed it was a full day, like public schools. The parents pointed out to me how much time is wasted in a normal class day - not only with pointless, nonsense lessons, but also, simply bringing slower kids up to speed and keeping class discipline.

My grandchildren are being homes schooled by their mom. They are light years ahead of public and charter school kids in reading, math, and science. And their dad, my son, is even teaching them Koine Greek, the Greek in which the New Testament was written. They are past the alphabet and are learning noun and verb paradigms.

By the way, they are 2nd and 3rd grade equivalent student. (I don't know the technical terms for their current status.) Home schooling works, and we encourage those who can to consider it.

A friend of mine's son graduated from Arizona State University with a master's in finance, cum laude. He was home schooled.

(And by the way, home school parents in Tulsa get their sons and daughters and field a legitimate high school football team and cheer squad.)

That’s funny. He nailed it on his one about churches too.

One of my favorite homeschool movie scenes was in the Lindsay Lohan Meangirls movie Views on Homeschooling. I thought it was funny. "Remington Bolt Action Rifle..."

I wasn't homeschooled, but I was private schooled in a hard-core military/college prep school from grades 1-7. I had 5 years of french, one year of spanish, and one year of latin. I was also helping out my (public)high-school brother with algebra. He's not stupid, he was crippled by public school.

For economic reasons, I continued school in public school and never learned another thing that I didn't teach myself or pay money for. I graduated high school a year early.

Public schools are the greatest waste of money and children that ever existed.

OMG my kids don’t get up at 6 AM, they do it the night before. What ever they can’t get done they make us help them with first thing in the morning so they can play in the snow.

“Wait! Take me with you!”

Very cute! And....The last statement above is why parents who institutionalize their kids don't want homeschoolers around. Soon their kids are **begging** to to be ransomed from their prison-like existence.

Cute and talented guy.

I homeschooled my youngest off and on through his education. He wanted to go to High School to play Lax. He was way ahead in academics. He got a good score on the SAT after seventh grade. He could have started at the community college for nineth grade.

But, he was dying to play varsity sports.

Probably the best point made is that sitting in classrooms seven to nine hours a day in one-hour time blocks waiting for someone to tell you what to do is not life experience.

Absolutely. Public school kills children’s initiative, their love of learning, their natural curiosity, and makes them drones for life who cannot be really independent.

I can’t tell you how many neighborhood kids have asked me to homeschool them as well.

Kids HATE the public school system.

Almost done with our two. No regrets. In fact, I consider it our greatest achievement. But it wasn’t hard at all. Both kids have learned primarily on their own since age 10, just like we did in school, when you think about it. We are reaping the benefits now, as our teens are a piece of cake.

My wife’s personality is not a nurturing one, so she was not cut out for it. But she did it, with my help, God bless her. If she can do it, anyone can.

—. Soon their kids are **begging** to to be ransomed from their prison-like existence.—

Last year I heard my daughter’s neighborhood girlfriend say to her, “when we’re older we can live next door to each other and homeschool our kids.” That made me feel good.

This year the same 12-year old girl attempted suicide (overdose) because of school bullying.

Absolutely heartbreaking.
