Correct Singing of the National Anthem

So does any bimbo really prepare anymore to learn the words of the national anthem? At the start of the 49ers game, she inserted "vallantly" rather than "gallantly". Good grief.

How ‘bout an Atlanta Braves home game: “...and the home of the BRAVES!!”

That didn’t bother me as much as the fact that she sang the anthem at funeral march tempo. As so many do these days.

Public events should begin with the following words:

Ladies and Gentlemen, please join in the singing of our National Anthem.

I heard Steve Tyler was pretty worthless, too. I think Carl Lewis (who was apologizing during the song) gets the award for worst, but the list of celebrities butchering the National Anthem is long and distinguished.

Not watching the game and I’m up to Post #25 and I still don’t know who was singing.

Steven Tyler sounded just as bad as I thought he would, but given his age, I figured he would at least know the words.

That was a sin ... letting that puke "sing' the National Anthem.

Just horrible.

Steven Tyler looks (and sounds) like an old homeless woman. When I heard them announce that he’d be singing the national anthem I left the room for a few minutes. Two Kids’ Mom said he was absolutely terrible.

This version of the anthem is the best I have heard at a sporting event:

With very few exceptions there isn’t anyone under the age of fifty who could sing the National Anthem let alone even knows it exists.

She may have messed up that word, but she sang it with respect and had a beautiful voice. She didn’t try to turn it into a soul or rock song.

Wait a minute. Isn’t she a big star on Broadway?

Yes, she won a Tony for the revival of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" (we took our kids to see that) and she was in the original cast of "Wicked" (IIRC).
