LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville mother is in jail after police said her five young children were found living in filth.
Louisville Metro Police arrested 24-year-old Victoria Hall. Police said she was living at a friend's house with her children.
Police said they found one of the children, a 3-month-old infant, in a car seat covered in feces. The baby was in such bad condition, he had to be hospitalized.
But Hall's friend, Marie Johnson, said those children were not neglected, and believes the incident is a huge misunderstanding.
"She's a good mom, a very good mom," said Johnson.
Johnson said Hall is a competent mom despite the charges against her.
"They came in here and acted like she was a criminal, and she's not," said Johnson.
Last week, Johnson said Hall showed up with her children, begging for a place to stay.
But Johnson is bed-ridden, and when police came to her house on a medical call Friday, they soon found others in a more desperate situation.

Not surprising. I have had to take more than one set of kids into protective custody for living in the same squalid, THIRD WORLD, conditions.
If the truth were known just how many of these people live, it would shock the nation.
Regular sick case run is for cockroaches burrowing into ears.

I did pest control work for several years, I saw some mind boggling messes. Mummified rats in kitchen drawers, stoves full of roaches, you name it. We used a special flushing spray, sometimes roaches would cover the entire floor after we used it. You could lift a picture away from the wall and the space it covered would be shoulder to shoulder in German roaches. The insides of tablecloths would be covered where they hung over the table.

why don’t they ever point out what the father had to say....and why wasn’t he babysitting????
I wonder if any two of the kids have the same last name or if there are 5 dads for the 5 kids.
BUT, of course, she’s a good mom ....every second Tuesday at 5:14 in the afternoon.
And these were real homes inhabited by people who had all this filth??
A lot of the calls we answered were triggered by complaints from neighbors and landlords.
German roaches aren't a native species, they aren't wild, don't just come inside like native roaches. They spread when bedding, luggage and furniture is moved, and if there is food, almost anything, they flourish. Another way I've seen them spread is when people carried stuff home in cardboard boxes, the roaches were under the overlapped flaps. A thin film of food crud on a floor will keep them fed.
Back then, early 70s, they had developed resistance to most common pesticides, we used Diazonon, and even then there were signs of resistant colonies. I don't know what is used today.
