Is this part of a larger plan or an isolated incident.

—Ouch. Are you a prophet?—

We’ll see. ;-)

We are living in interesting times. Something that has been on my mind the last couple of years was that, though you don’t hear about it much, there was something going on in the 1960’s.
1963 - JFK assassinated
1965 - Malcolm X assassinated
1968 - Robert Kennedy assassinated
1968 - Martin Luther King Jr. Assassinated.

That is a five year period. Besides John Lennon, am I missing any that have happened since? And the typical “reason” offered for all this does not bode well for our immediate future.

The second answer here sort of reminds you of today: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090218232052AA65ax7

There are other interesting hits here: http://www.google.com/search?q=martin+luther+king+assassination&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#pq=bobby+kennedy+assassination+date&hl=en&cp=13&gs_id=6b&xhr=t&q=1960%27s+assassinations&pf=p&sclient=psy-ab&client=firefox-a&hs=dhH&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&source=hp&pbx=1&oq=1960%27s+assass&aq=0&aqi=g1g-v1g-b1&aql=&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=97418def9c3dce11&biw=1173&bih=816

BTW, since the early 1980’s I’ve had several people in disparate churches tell me that my “gift” is prophesy. That said, “prophesy” includes “teaching”. ;-)

—— I personally believe that Islam is inconsistent with the whole concept of individual rights and common respect for all humanity.——

The ideal system of Islamic government is the caliphate, a united, worldwide Islamic empire, lead by an empower or caliph, where Christians and Jews are subjugated, and other religious adherents are given the choice of conversion or death.

So yeah, republicanism isn’t an Islamic thing.

By trying to establish a democracy in Iraq, I believe that Bush was trying to indirectly subvert Islam. If Muslims became accustomed to the benefits of democratic life, they might question the worth of a caliphate, and then hopefully, they would question Islam itself.

I did not see it posted on FR. This is a significant event and the impact on US markets can be severe. Worthy of beaking news on FR as our marjets open in 2 hours.

You may not have seen it posted on FR because you didn't look back 16 hours.

Sorry, day-old news that has been posted twice already is probably not worthy of "breaking news." And there has been hours of US market trading after this news was out - yesterday.

But I understand the urge to be the first to post with big news.

Wow, everyone I talked to this morning had not heard about this. I suspect the impact on US Markets if any will not be seen until opening this morning. I think FR folks would be interested in following this. I was surprised that it was not already on the Breaking News Sidebar.

I dont care if I get “credit” for being the FIRST to place this story on the FR breaking news sidebar.

Resoectfully,

It’s hard to judge these things; so the following is PURE SPECULATION:

but maybe the government WANTS internal violence, so as to have an excuse to crack down (and even postpone or usurp the functions of the parliament, under emergency rule).

Crowds of Mohammedans on the rampage, engaged in murder and mayhem, is a significant event? I would categorize it as just another day in Krapistan, no more, no less.

True to moslem form, they’ll eventually blame the Christians and Jews and crack down even harder on them.
