Newt Gingrich was in Top Form during a post Las Vegas News Conference-FoxNews with blindspots
February 4, 2012 | Ralph Mitchell

Posted on 02/04/2012 9:07:37 PM PST by mitchell001

Newt Gingrich is a brilliant speaker and a brilliant political leader. He demonstrated an opennes and a command of conservatism during his post LasVegas Caucus news conference. Fox News analysts were openly unfair in their analysis of Gingrich's news conference. They were openly jealous that Newt is head and shoulders above Romney, Santorum and Paul. Fox News has blindspots, since only Charles Krauthammer acknowledged Gingrich's superiority over Romney in expressing detailed policy positions such as Obama's denying American Catholics Freedom of Religion by forcing them to violate their beliefs by requiring them to pay for artificial contraception with Obamacare requirements.

As I have noted before, Gingrich is the best one to articulate conservative positions. Romney is the worst of the bunch. Even Ron Paul does a good job with domestic fiscal policy.

The reason that Romney is so lousy at articulating conservative ideas is because, I believe, he does not really believe in them himself. He has not sold conservative ideas before or done any conservative transformations in public policy.

My belief is that Newt will do well when he is explaining, articulating, selling conservative ideas and viewpoints. That is where he gets the standing ovations. He does poorly when he is on the defensive against the mud flinging from Romney.

You guys watching the same Foxnews I’m watching? I understand there are those who are disappointed to see Romney win, but what I see is Fox reporting the results and the panel giving their opinion.

Yes, I was only telling the other person that CNN as well was ridiculing Newt (not only Fox)

And it wasn’t just his trampoline comment. He also has started talking about that “safety net” being more of a spider web, catching people and not letting them out. A great analogy based on a Conservative principle.

They were very disgusting to a candidate. Wasn’t necessary.

Bret and the rest at Faux can do their happy dance now, but they’ll be dancing to crickets when many of us drop them from our viewing. Don’t just vote at the polls folks; if the coverage isn’t fair and balanced, don’t watch them anymore. If the cheerleading columns are grating- ask to be removed from their mailing lists. If those same screeching magpies are on the radio- switch them off.

At least CNN hates all of the Republicans whereas Faux kisses the butts of Romney and Santuckabee. Even Ron Paul, for crying out loud.

For AD to say that this news conference of Newt’s will be a “defining” moment of his campaign is ridiculous.
And of course she didn’t mean it in a flattering way.
That’s not intelligent opinion.

Faux news is showing their pro Romney bias in just about every newscast and with most of their commentators.
The formerly unwatchable CNN is more fair and balanced.

“My belief is that Newt will do well when he is explaining, articulating, selling conservative ideas and viewpoints. That is where he gets the standing ovations. He does poorly when he is on the defensive against the mud flinging from Romney.”

That’s what Kraut said and I agree.

Newt is the only one that poses a threat to Romney nomination. The rest actually help Romney.

Maybe I can apply for an "analyst" position at Fox. ;-)

I might even bring a differing viewpoint (FreeRepublic), as opposed to the Romney choir currently there.

Regarding FNC, look at it this way. These people are pundits, they get paid to say stuff that is provocative. We don’t need them to carry the message, that’s Newts job.

After the presser they were all puzzled, talking about him being “odd”, “in the weeds”, “minutia”, and all that. They couldn’t understand what Newt was doing.

I say, if the pundit class is scratching it’s head, you must be doing the right thing. Sarah Palin is a master at keeping them guessing, Newt’s doing the same thing.

He just needs to avoid sounding nasty, bitter, and like a sore loser. Zingers work better than sarcasm against Romney. Just remember how much mileage we got out of “He voted before it before he voted against it”...that kind of thing works.

Newt needs to treat Romney with the same respect Bush gave Windsurfer Kerry, another out-of-touch elitist wuss.

Right and Newt scares the entire Washington, D.C. establishment.

He’s going to upset their gravy train and restore our Republic to its Consitutional Foundations.
