[myFoxLA Twitter 2.10.12] "Did u c this ticked off dad after his teen daughter posted inappropriately on facebook? Did he go too far w/gun?!"
*********************************************************

"Warning: Since this video seems to have gone crazy, I figure I'll post this notice. I'm going to read a letter my 15 year old daughter wrote. There ARE some curse words in it. None of them are incredibly bad, but they are definitely things a little kid shouldn't hear... not to mention things MY KID shouldn't say!"

"My daughter thought it would be funny/rebellious/cool to post on her Facebook wall just how upset she was and how unfair her life here is; how we work her too hard with chores, never pay her for chores, and just in general make her life difficult."

"worry anymore about posting anymore about posting inappropriate things on Facebook..."

"Maybe a few kids can take something away from this... If If you're so disrespectful to your parents and yourself as to post this kind of thing on Facebook, you're deserving of some tough love. Today, my daughter is getting a dose of tough love."

Fascinating.

This is probably the most humiliating moment of this girls life - until she reads it when she has her own teen kids.

Good. She needs a kick in the butt.

That guy does NOT look like the kind of fellow who just sits around on his "ass" watching others work.

I suspect his daughter is completely full of crap.

No, I do ont think he went too far when he shot his daughter’s laptop computer.

Nice pistol, by the way.

I won’t bother with the vid. Facebook is not where I’d like to see anyone with a brain. It is faceless networking. IMHO that should be done face to face. Now FR that’s a different story. Educational, inspiring, principled, and constitutional all causes worth pursuing. There are even rules worth obeying.

OMG! I feel sorry for some parents. All I can say is when you give birth to that sweet little baby, you have no idea what he or she will be like at 15. There’s a fine line between being too strict and being too lenient when they are growing up. It’s a tough job!

I think the dad is visably shaken and frustrated.

I’ll bet his kids grow up to be productive American citizens.

There will be more rebellian to come, I’m sure. But parenting is tough.

I hope he didn’t say a word to her and just placed her laptop back where he found it. I’m sure her friends will tell here what she missed.

I’m not sure if you realize it is not just between individuals. There are important and interesting group discussions also. I won’t mention companies, but if it wasn’t for facebook, I would not know what was going on with a certain one. It’s very important to me.

According to the stats, there are over 500 million facebook users:

Facebook Statistics, Stats and Facts for 2011 are starting to roll out, and here is the first infographic to wrap them all up thanks to Online Schools. With over 500 million users, Facebook is now used by 1 in every 13 people on earth, with over 250 million of them (over 50%) who log in every day. The average user still has about 130 friends, but that should expand in 2011.

I won’t mention companies

Yep, pretty hard to find a company that doesn’t have a link to fb and twitter, or a company that doesn’t buy into the green nonsense. Somehow all three just seem to go together.

I try to keep an open mind but that has to balance out with time available, if youth are into it, it may be popular, but is it worth your time? Kind of like how many youth are Paulistas, which is really confusing when you try to factor his age and that of his followers.

God Bless him you can see how frustrated he is. Hope he and his daughter sort things out and she learns a good lesson about respect.

Kids will make you crazy, that’s fer sure. It’s hard not to totally lose it w/ em when they’re mouthing off and not obeying, so I can appreciate his shooting the computer. I have apologized a million times to my mom now that my daughter is a teenager, cuz I too well remember how I treated her back then. Thank God she’s alive and I can tell her how sorry I am...but back then I was disrespectful, disobedient, mouthy, and deserved all the grounding and other punishment I received. I pray this teen grows thru all that and realizes how much her dad loves her and eventually can apologize to him, and better yet, live a decent life and have her own kids to deal with!

Kids should not be participating in social media. It is a destructive hive mentality of the lowest common denominator and they have enough of that gutter in their public school hours.

I did not shoot equipment nor make dramatic scenes with my kids. Like Obama’s economy, things that were an out of control problem, sometimes broke “unexpectedly.”

This dad is angry about his daughter being a betraying drama queen on facebook...and look what he is doing. He's the drama king of family betrayal on youtube. When he caught her misbehaving on facebook before, why did he not just delete her page and forbid her to mess around in social media on the computer until she matures. With his skills, he'd easily be able to inspect what he expected of her on her computer. Also, why give immature kids laptops so they can do their thing on the internet with no supervision? We had a computer room where everyone’s computers were stationed and the kids did not have the privacy to misbehave on the computer. Parental supervision and boundry setting on a child's computer usage is very important. The internet is a gross and dangerous place for unsupervised children.

He's also a mixed message about her getting a part time job. Why his he spending his money to upgrade her computer with new software “she wants for school”? Parents provide the basics of life for their teenage children and his power lies in allowing her to upgrade her own computer software and equipment if she wants all that. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer of parenting. He's divorced which probably has a lot to do with his daughter's family relationship problems. And a real cute touch putting a bullet in the computer for the stepmother.

Either that, or there was World war 3 in that house that evening. Could be that the rebellious little witch went to a friend’s house, crying that her daddy was ‘abusive’ and had the friend’s parents call CPS.

Nowadays, the PARENTS have no rights. Back in the day, a teenager making comments like that would have earned them a open-handed slap across the face.

I think the dad did the best thing he could have done under the circumstances. I just hope it doesn’t come back to bite him in the butt.

You just don’t understand. The company does not have a facebook page that I know of! It’s employees, retirees, and customers who are in the discussions!! Vital information is being discussed. If it wasn’t for FB, we could not have a discussion involving so many people!
