On Valentines Day, a priest and a nun penned an op-ed in The Washington Post entitled, A Catholic Case for Same-Sex Marriage.
Sister Jeannine Gramick and Francis DeBernardo of New Ways Ministry in Mt. Rainier, Maryland, wrote, Many Catholics understand that lesbian and gay love is as natural as heterosexual love.
As Catholics who are involved in lesbian and gay ministry and outreach, we are aware that many people, some of them Catholics, believe that Catholics cannot faithfully disobey the public policies of the churchs hierarchy. But this is not the case, they wrote. Like Govs. Andrew Cuomo in New York and Pat Quinn in Illinois Govs. Martin OMalley and Christine Gregoire are acting against the strongly expressed opposition of their churchs bishops.
They argued the acceptance by many Roman Catholics of the homosexual lifestyle should be considered on par with the teachings of the Church. The Catholic Church is not a democracy, but neither is it a dictatorship. Ideally, our bishops should strive to proclaim the sensus fidelium, the faith as it is understood by the whole church.
After stating that Scripture and Church tradition offer little firm reason to oppose marriage between members of the same sex, they added, millions of Catholics are arriving at different conclusions rooted deeply in the teachings of our faith
We support marriage equality, and we wont forget the Catholic legislators and governors who have worked on behalf of justice for lesbian and gay couples.

“Renegade” doesn’t even come close to adequate!
There is no Christian case for homosexual erotic love. The only option for those, and it’s than just homosexuals who are in this situation, is to move from philio love to agape love, for which there is no sin.
But there is no option for eros, not if you are to be obedient to God.
I wonder if the word [capital C]atholic is copyrighted? Or coiuld a “renegade nun” steal the name for herself?
When is this “nun” going to make a case for a father marrying his daughter or his own dog?
And he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall join to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh?
Notice that he said “a male and a female”. Not a male and a male, not a pair of scisors and a hub cap. But I guess Jesus can’t tell Catholics what to do.

It sounds gay.
What a couple of liberal dinosaurs. Your time is past, Sister Mary Relevant and Father Withit: the 60’s are long gone.
can one say HERETIC OR APOSTICY OR EXCOMMUNICATE
Methinks they forgot about that little problem the Catholic church had with homosexual priests...
