National Enquirer posts Whitney Houston open casket

Not that it’s all that shocking, when you think about it, as the shot is reminiscent of the Enquirer front page featuring Elvis Presley’s open casket photo after The King died in 1977.

Did The Enquirer go too far, is this par for the course with today’s tabloid journalism, or both?

I wondered how long it would take for this photo to appear.
Some greedy somebody made a bundle off this.

I doubt if they really buried her with $500,000 worth of jewelry as was reported. I’m sure they removed it after the viewing.
If not, it would certainly temp some ghouls to go digging and try to get it.

I thought so at first too, but it’s just the shine from the lip gloss.

Hmmmmmm...

You are correct.

On my cellphone it looks as if her lips are parted at first glance. went back and looked and they are indeed closed.

C’mon... It’s the Enquirer. No way would they photoshop a picture on their cover.
That tabloid prides itself on having more integrity than, say, Dan Rather or the New York Times, etc.

Thanks.

fwiw - When I was a child I found a kitten in the middle of Whitney Avenue in Queens and named it Whitney. Kept it for his full life, about 17 years.

She looks at peace. Still tragic.

‘Nippy’ and the musical notes on the inside look tacky.

Yes, she looks beautiful.
They must have really improved on the way they do autopsies.
When they got through with the beautiful Marilyn Monroe, her face had all but collapsed.
You can see a picture if you do a Google.
I haven’t the heart to post it.

This from Mail on Line:

A photograph apparently showing Whitney Houston in an open coffin has been published on the cover of the National Enquirer.
The chilling picture shows the singer lying dead in her golden casket, clad in a regal purple dress and wearing what looks like a diamond brooch and earrings.

The official cause of death is yet to be revealed, pending the release of toxicology reports - which could still be several weeks off.
However, there has been speculation that the troubled star -who endured a long battle with drugs - died as a result of a deadly concoction of prescriptions drugs and alcohol.

Yesterday, RadarOnline reported Whitney had a mixture of Valium, Xanax and alcohol in her system when she was found at the Beverly Hilton.

‘Whitney had taken Valium, Xanax, and alcohol, which led to her death,’ a source close to the situation told the website.

‘The coroner is waiting on final toxicology results to determine which one of the three was the major contributing factor of her demise.’
The insider went on: ‘The coroner will be closely examining Whitney’s blood alcohol content at the time she died as well. The sedatives and alcohol will almost certainly be the cause of death, and not drowning.

‘Her heart stopped beating because her respiratory system was suppressed because of the anti-anxiety meds, and combined with the booze it probably happened very quickly before she was found partially submerged in the bathtub.’

Great News! TMZ has just announced a new entertainment channel that will cover Whitney Houston 24 hours a day forever. So all you fans will now be able to turn on 'Whitney" forever! Not enough coverage you say? MSNBC is also launching it's own private Whitney cable channel next month. There will be psychics talking to Whitney directly and answering your questions. You'll be able to talk directly with her for $5,000 a minute.

Need more you say? Disney is opening the new Whitney Crack House exhibit in Fantasy Land. You'll be able to dress up like Whitney and do actual lines of coke! Disney is also putting in a new Funeral Cortege ride in Tomorrow Land where you will be able to ride in a hearse with an animatronic Whitney body in an open casket!

Not enough you say? You want more? CBS has just announced a new reality show, "Whitney Lost" in which contestants will overdose live on TV and paramedics will try to revive them. Last one to die wins!
