Karzai’s Response to Obama’s Apology: Put U.S. Troops on Trial and Punish Them

Three days after President Barack Obama dispatched his ambassador to Afghanistan to hand deliver a personal letter from the president of the United States to Afghan President Hamid Karzai apologizing because U.S. forces at Bagram Air Force Base had mistakenly burnt some Korans, Karzai has responded to the gesture in a statement broadcast live on Afghan television.

Karzai, according to a BBC translation of his remarks made Sunday, told the Afghan people he was speaking to them after discussing the matter with “jihadi leaders,” “prominent scholars,” and Afghan elected officials, and that he spoke for the “pure sentiments” of the “Afghan nation” and the “Islamic world,” when he said: “We call on the US government to bring the perpetrators of the act to justice and put them on trial and punish them.”

At the same time Karzai was demanding the prosecution and punishment of U.S. troops involved in the Koran-burning incident, he conceded that the U.S. government had indicated that the Koran burning “was not deliberate.”

"We all know that regrettably some days ago an American soldier burnt our Holy Koran,” Karzai said, according to the BBC translation. “We condemn this vicious act in the strongest terms. The government and the people, scholars, tribal dignitaries, spiritual figures of Afghanistan, the educated people of our country all share the people's feelings... Our people's sensitiveness is right and is laudable.”

"The US government says that such act was carried out because of ignorance and lack of knowledge,” Karzai said. “This incident happened as a result of the ignorance of the US military officer about our vision about Islam and not recognizing the Koran. It was not deliberate."

"Today,” Karzai said, “we had a detailed session attended by jihadi leaders, prominent scholars, speakers of both......

Does every Koran ever printed still exist?

Or do they occasionally get disposed of, when they become old.

What if you spill coffee on it?

What if the printing shop screws up a run, and has to dispose of a lot?

Is there a Holy Koran Toilet Paper yet?

You are exactly right.

And I want to know what BO’s letter said to Karzai.

WE deserve to know and a copy should be released immediately- not just two sentences from Karzai.

WHAT DOES THE F-ING LETTER SAY.

We should bring all our troops and diplomats home.

As soon as they are here we should desecrate every Koran we can find - and put it on TV for the world to see.

Then let the muslims self destruct.

If we pulled our troops out, who would keep the trade routes for the US portion of Opium produced?? We finally re=established normal trade for the much needed Opium, Heroin and Opium use in the US has Skyrocketed since our excursion, fueling the much needed War on Drugs. Where would the US get it’s opium if we were to leave now before permanent trade routes and procedures are finalized??

My response to Karzai.
President Obama apologized to you. Accept it and move on. It is the best you are going to get. Because WE THE PEOPLE DO NOT apologize for the appropriate actions of American soldiers destroying communications between our enemies.
You and your shithole Country are pressing your luck. If we had kind of a leader in America you would be toast and you country would be a parking lot.

It is past time to allow these muslims to kill each other as they have done for 1500 years. It is also past time to deport by force EVERY muslim including the magic HMIC who stinks up the WH.

HMIC = Head Muslim in charge.

Forget their cities. Hit them where it hurts. Napalm a few million acres of poppie fields.

What if the printing shop screws up a run, and has to dispose of a lot?

I recall reading several threads last year about a big order of korans from China that were full of typos and had to be destroyed.....not sure which country ordered them....anyone remember.?

Here you go....

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2772207/posts

Iran's Organization of the Holy Quran is scolding Iranian publishers who've outsourced production of the holy book to Chinese printers.

Apparently, their copies of the Quran are riddled with typos, according to the Tehran Times.

"These tableaus are made quite cheaply in China but are sold for much more than they are really worth to make that much more profit," said an official with the organization who monitors and evaluates Qurans available in Iran.

The official even urged importers to halt future Quran shipments from China, the Times reported.

If you're keeping score at home, China is accused of shipping out seafood laden with putrefying bacteria, toys laden with lead, totally fake eggs and, now, tainted Qurans.

So Iran sent a load of corrupted Chinese korans to Afganistan....

And the busy beavers in Bagram jail were only making corrections.

end of story.

If we do that, how many korans will be destroyed? Can’t have that now, can we?

BTW, when one of those spinter groups attacks another splinter group’s town, aren’t korans destroyed in the process? Me thinks the attackers owes the victims a huge apology for destroying some of those books.

Some fun stuff from the other thread...

Did they say Chill instead of Kill??

“No God but Arrah!”

Actually, one of the typos reads: “Allan commands you to spray the unbelievers.”

My sympathies to anyone named Allan ;-)”

And the Bagram boys changed the last one to:

Allan commands you to spay the unbelievers.”
