I can’t stand Proflowers. I made the mistake of buying something from them -— what came was not remotely as advertised and there were all sorts of hidden fees.

To top it off, I am constantly spammed by them and related companies (”proplants”) — everything, despite REPEATEDLY following their procedure to get off the spam list.

I actually had an account with Pro Flowers so when I called to close it, I was offered a discount on my next 3 orders!

I told them to shove it and to close my account and it is closed.

I agree that Proflowers is horrible and it’s a good thing that they left a slot open for another advertiser. I only wish Rush could pick advertisers whose products were truly pleasing but I think he has been selling to the highest bidder. If he got some feedback on the actual products he allows to advertise and chose them based on both rate and quality, then he could grow his network of affiliates and keep his profit margins even.

I look at Trader Joes and Whole Foods as companies that are obsessed with quality of product whereas TJs is also obsessed with getting prices down. These companies are growing in the midst of one of the worst economies of our lifetime.

Surely Rush can take a little time out and start to be more selective.

As for flowers, I always search the internet for a local florist, not a chain but someone I can talk to on the phone and I always ask them to send me a digital photo of the arrangement. I have never missed the mark using this approach.

But Proflowers is as you say deceptive and yes they will spam you and cookie you until you scream out loud.

I ordered flowers for my wife once from them. Never again.

They sent the wrong flowers and had the wrong note enclosed. So I suppose they had my order mixed up with someone else’s order. I continued to get spam from them for a long time, too.

I fell for one of their $19.95 "specials," and, in all seriouslness, by the time I had to add shipping, delivery on time, etc., the bill was almost $50.

So, I certainly won't miss this a$$holes.
