The 40-year-old actor, who plays brooding advertising executive Don Draper on the popular series, which returns for a fifth season this month, said that the United States had dumbed down, adding:
"We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered negative." He went on: "Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated."

The DNC’s liberal girlymen really hate women. Especially white women.
No, you moron of an actor. Thinking you are elite and trying to lord over your betters is what’s negative. Tool.
Frick’n moron better shut up or his career will end like the dixie chicks.
He is an actor not so smart just lucky that he gets paid what he does.
...............well what can I say about that?
Maybe he does not like mentally ill white sluts and used the word stupid to be politically correct.
You’re probably right.
This is the IDIOT who says, according to some supplement magazine that comes with my Sunday paper, that Obama is his “idol.” So he’s on a first name basis with rock-bottom stupidity.
“The Town” was a good flick IMO (even though it was directed by Ben Affleck). I was SO hoping Hamm’s character would have been decapitated and/or shot in the head.
All that said, he's right on this. One thumb up, Pinocchio, Jr.
I think the Kardashians are a target of opportunity for pontificators of all political persuasions.
Plus he’s Bill Maher’s new fag lefty friend. This clown has a new show on NBC and he’s asking me to watch that crap?
You should check out Mad Men an excellent show and i agree with him about those girls fu*c*ing idiots...
Mad Men is set just before the PC and hippie era when men went out to lunch smoked and had 3 martinis before safety belts when kids played outside and got dirty..
One memorable scene one of his kids is running around the house with a dry cleaners bag on him he was playing “astronauts”...
The series reminds you of all the laws that are forced on us and very un PC..
Did you guys seen any of hacked phone pictures of “Mad Men” costars Christine Hendricks and January Jones...as well as Heather Morris (”Glee”) and Olivia Munn (”G4”)?
Yes - danke!
Christine Hendricks: Fugly.
January Jones: Non descript.
Heather Morris: Sweety.
Olivia Munn: Oh my!
First i heard of it...
Like to see what Hendricks looks like in the buff..January not so much...I presume she is in the buff,hoping....
No idea who Heather is.
Is it? It looks like the people on it are in general douchy.
I might have to check it out...not promising that I’ll like it. :)
The old days when men were men, eh? The good ole days...
I saw the Town...also Hamm played Scott Brown in a Sat. Night Live sketch just after Brown took office. It was good, though mostly for the parodies of the others...
“Second fwoor...”—Frank (Armisen)
>>In one skit, the ‘Mad Men’ star plays newly elected Republican senator Scott Brown. Brown keeps wandering into Sen. Harry Reid’s office while Reid was meeting with several democrats — Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Robert Byrd, Sen. Barbara Boxer and Congressman Barney Frank, played by Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Nasim Pedrad and Fred Armisen respectively.
Hamm’s Brown continually bursts into the room and with a thick Boston accent and a few winks, makes each of the other politicians dream about the “pretty boy who drives a truck and shows his heiny in Cosmo.”
