YouTube, Video podcasts through Apple's iTunes, those are free to use, and you can even earn advertising from YouTube and charge subscription fees through iTunes if you want it to fund itself. Use that as a springboard - plenty of people already have or make their living from both of those platforms, and there are other video platforms.

Great idea! The Freep Channel on YouTube.

Face it: conservatives have small appeal to advertisers. It’s a niche demographic.

Then why does Rush have so many advertisers, and people still clamoring to buy into his audience, sleep train trying to make amends and get back in. If it is such a niche audience why is this so? The fact is there are more conservatives in this country, and conservatives are the ones who buy things, than liberals and advertisers know it. A conservative TV news station would go over like gang busters.

“revenue through fees and eliminate advertisements”
That’s being tried on the internet and could yield fruit as as more and more people turn to the internet for video news and entertainment.
i can’t see it working on cable or over-the-air media [mass media].

There is a niche market for advertisers on conservative media- new products and services for example.
It doesn’t come close to the market for ‘dumb sluts’ that media currently provides to their advertisers. That puts a limit on the ‘up side’ of the profits.

Rush has had great success with new products and services.
These advertisers want to get the word out to the most people- even those who aren’t fools.

Most advertisers want fools: “a fool and his money are soon parted”.

Leftys are well-represented in the middle and upper class.
And most important to advertisers- they are fools.
Look how often a media fad will get started or taken up by a rich liberal group and spread through the poorer liberals.
Man that’s the apex of advertising success.

Would love to see commercials for Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Guns & Ammo, Cabelas, etc.

You give yourself false comfort by believing conservatives represent majority of population imho.

I disagree. This country is center-right. And when I say conservative, I don't mean dogmatic conservative like many of us here at FR. I'm talking common sense apolitical every day values.

Why do you think libs have to couch their ideology (Libs can't even admit they are liberal) and conservatives can come out in the open and say what they believe in? Because our values agree with a majority of this country, whether it is an issue like building a mosque at ground zero or cutting taxes or drilling. Obama and Dems are normally on the wrong side of popular opinion - until they can come up with a talking point and then influenced and narrated via the leftwing media.

Yes I know there are plenty, I was just pointing out that if the Koch brothers funded their own network, it would probably lean libertarian. I don’t have a problem with that.

A YouTube Freep Channel could be setup in minutes. There are quite a few Conservatives who already use YouTube to get their views out there.

The Koch brothers are worth about $21.3 billion EACH.

I wish they would mount a hostile takeover of CBS.
They could change the name to the Conservative Broading System.

Liberal heads would explode from Boston to Burbank.

You’ve got some good points, CNN.
There’s alot rambling around in Rush’s mind lately. And I would love to know what it is.
I hope he’s not planning an Operation Chaos. FAIL.
Unfortunately, I think he’s going to be extra cautious about everything he does and says from now on cuz of the Fluke flack.

Levin has been great about ripping Mittens...the others, not so much.

You know that Palin, Malkin, Rush, Levin and Hannity can’t stand the Massachusetts moderate but Mark’s the only one coming out in full force.
The others are bound or restrained by one thing or another. I say to all of them: It’s time to take this guy out at the knees the same way that he has attempted to destroy his opposition.

We need help and they are the ones to give it to us.

As for Beck, I haven’t listened to him in a long time and don’t intend to start any time soon.
I can’t stand listening to the silly laughter and inside jokes between he, Stu and Pat that none of us are privy to.

Why Is There No Conservative News Network?

Because the factual TRUTH is too hard for most people to handle.

If they strained all of the lib goo then what would
be left at FOX is the flip side of the rest of the
channels and networks. You want that? Really?

I like watching the lefties getting b-slapped. What is
too bad is that lightweight Hannity would rather rattle
off lists of lib offenses than vocalize thoughtful
retorts to the drivel of his liberal guests. So
superficial. And, Bill O is not one of us but he is
useful though boorish at times.

Rivera? Well, they but him on when I don’t watch
TV which is just the way I want it.

Because the cable companies would need to own most of the equity, while putting up none of the capital.

Honest estimates place conservatives at around 20%.

"Conservatives" Are Single-Largest Ideological Group

PRINCETON, NJ -- Thus far in 2009, 40% of Americans interviewed in national Gallup Poll surveys describe their political views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal. This represents a slight increase for conservatism in the U.S. since 2008, returning it to a level last seen in 2004. The 21% calling themselves liberal is in line with findings throughout this decade, but is up from the 1990s.

So if 40% are conservative, and half the moderates are actually conservative, Gallup says almost 60%.

Not a fantasy. Reality.

I always thought Rush should put a group together and buy one of the networks. Conservative news, intelligent comedy, real action shows without a marxist/environmentalwaco/god-mocking agenda.

Would be number one first year.
