Indiana did not deserve to win!

I mean, I'm glad they won and everything, but it's like they were sleep walking through the whole game. VCU was more determined and they played harder. They deserved to win.

I watched Coach Shaka Smart after the loss. What an incredibly classy guy!

I was in Richmond last year for what I can only call “Richmond Insanity” — UR and VCU defying gravity.

I was lucky to find a VCU T-shirt for sale in a Big Dicks sporting good store. All the malls were out of them.

Same for UR until they got knocked off.

I don’t really follow college hoops so I assume this means VCU didn’t go as deep this year?

Fortunately we still award the victory to the team with the most points at the end of the contest.

Indiana won. Doesn't matter the officials, or anything else. They go to the Sweet 16.

I hope all hoosiers get jock rot.

Signed, a VCU grad.

The gum chewing, somewhat disheveled Crean appears to be following the Bobby Knight school of basketball- big goony white guys.

The Bobby Knight style might not get a guy to heaven, but it will get him championship rings and contract renewals.

(a) how does that make them “goony”? (b) I was really referring to the Knight comment. Scott May? Isiah Thomas? Calbert Cheaney? Alan Henderson? Landon Turner?

There were a couple of white big men that played at Indiana; Kent Benson and Kirk Haston come to mind, but neither had a reputation of being “goony.”. Oh, Uwe Blab. Also not a goon.

Within the rules of the game, Indiana won and deservedly so. But if you wanna base the game on merit- who played harder, with more guts and determination- then VCU was the winner.

“VCU = Virginia Communist University”

This is a well-known fact here in central Virginia. Christians are mocked and persecuted and cannot pass a class in the social sciences unless they regurgitate communist doctrine.....

The Berkeley of the East.......or really, just one of many....

The cold hard facts are Indiana deserved to win ~ just so Kentucky could play at least one challenging game in this tournament ~ and LOSE AGAIN.

There's nothing like the sting of defeat to bring some players into line.

The game next Friday between IU and KU will undoubtedly be the best game you've seen all year.

Knight and Crean both have an overwhelming number of white players compared to most other big time college teams. For the most part, their style of play is slow, a lot of passing and very physical.

Big goony white guys? I think you have Indiana confused with Purdue, or maybe Iowa.
Each of Indiana's five incoming freshmen next year are black if that makes you feel any better.

Other than this season, which is partially a product of Sampson’s destruction of the program, I don’t think that they are “whiter” than any other Midwest state school. Going back to knight’s last teams, the only two white playes that I can remember getting significant minutes were Haston and Brian Evans before that.

For the style of play, I don’t see too man similarities. knight ran the motion, obviously, and Crean does more of a dribble/drive and pro set offense. Crean would probably win more with a motion, but I think he wants to recruit players that want to play pro style.

As to tonight’s game, VCU couldn’t finish. If they hadn’t been throwing up three pointers and turning the ball over the last five minutes of the game, they probably would have won. But they didn’t, and they didn’t.
