IOW it is like a 1984 scenario of sorts.

unless the offended mother is not real and this is all a test.

Another of N reasons (where N requires scientific notation to adequately express magnitude) why public schools should go extinct.

The combined IQ of the vast majority of superintentents/principals/school boards would strain to reach room temp.

The left hates/is going to hate Ender's Game. It will be savaged by many critics simply because of its plot. And it was written by a conservative Mormon. (Gasp!)

Ender's Game does a remarkable job describing what it is like to move about in zero gravity. Can't wait for the movie.

I guess I have been out to lunch as I have never heard of this book, ever. To me though, the Dune series by Frank Herbert would be impossible to top. I've read the whole series. If any here has read both authors, how would you compare?

Orson Scott Card the Mormon writer ???

Its probably because his books are heavily laced with New Age Mormonism...

The Queen appears in Speaker for the Dead.

BTW, after attempting to read Xenocide I have sworn off all Orson Scott Card books.

Too bad the child prodigy, Ender wasn’t a Homo.

Then this would an “award-winning educator”, celebrated for his edgy and innovative teaching style.

I finally read this book when I was in Iraq. It was really good. I don’t envy Gavin Hood’s job of directing the movie—it’s gonna be a tough one.

I've read both recently. Dune is slightly more sophisticated, but they both have what I consider positive and conservative themes. Most people who like Dune will also like Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, although they are very different as Sci Fi. [Dune is better.]

I’ve read both authors. OSC is much easier to read, but not
as detailed. I like them both very much.

Well Card did name one of his kids Michael Geoffrey for the pornagraphic writer Geoffrey Chaucer,

He named them all for writers he “admired”...

Personally I could hardly get through Chaucer when I was in college...

I’ve been reading sci fi for 40 years and Ender’s Game is by
far the best story I’ve come across. Dune is a good story but gets lost is so much detail which is why the movie sucked so bad.

I read a story about the making of Dune and the Director, Lean, I believe, left and had his name taken off the film credits as he didn’t like what they were cutting and adding to what he wanted to give us, and that was something very close to the book script. Most believe that that is why it sucked.
