After word spread rapidly Wednesday that the New York Jets had acquired quarterback Tim Tebow from Denver for draft picks, the teams have encountered a hang-up in the language in Tebow's contract that could nullify the trade, a Broncos source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Tebow has about $5 million worth of recapture language in his contract, meaning the Jets would have to pay back some money to Denver, and the Jets might be unwilling to do that.
The trade, then, is not finalized.

That is why I am not a big Tebow fan. I want my QB to the throw the ball and make completions. Not run around.
I agree. Im just tired of people trashing him. I might be a little biased though...
Well you have to admit it seems a lot like how Blacks are. Must be perfect because they are black and you can’t give any criticism or you are against black people. I look at the way conservatives are with Christian Conservatives. They automatically are given a free pass because they are Christian instead of looking at the abilities. It is really a terrible road to go down. However, I can see you being tired of bashing just because he is Christian, but if they are trashing him because he stinks at football than that should be allowed.
I was referring to football. Of course they can criticize, just as I can stand up for him. I’m not saying they shouldn’t say anything, I’m just done being quiet in return. Only Tebow’s play can change their minds.
I’m sure you would have waived Joe Kapp as well. I mean the guy admittedly couldn’t even throw a spiral. Lots of experts said Joe couldn’t play in the NFL back then. Of course Joe just told them to screw off. Tebow will be more polite.
Denver just finalized the trade to the Jets. Tebow and 7th rounder for the Jets’ #4 and #6.
Namath was a fantastic athlete before his knee injuries.
Always cheer for a SEC team against those.. other so called
football teams.
My son told me the Patriots want him.
I don’t think Tim would be happy playing for Rex Reed. From what I’ve been able to discern from reading Rex’s lips on the sidelines during games, most of the words in his vocabulary start with F!
If Tim goes to NY with the mindset that Reed is a “mission field” he may just tough it out for the Lord, and perhaps affect Reed in a positive way. Miracles do happen.
You mean Rex Ryan. Rex Reed was a “flamboyant” film critic.
I can remember when the exact same things were said about Bradshaw in his early years with the Steelers.
Being a fan of Da Boys at the time I look back and wish they would have traded him too.
you're just parroting the press and the talking heads like Hoge on ESPN. They (the press and the experts) said the same thing about Terry Bradshaw.. "too stupid and can't control his arm". I do believe you may be a Cowboy fan, as am I. If you are you're not very observant or remember those other GREAT quarterbacks with "great stats" and "rifle arms".. who were "real good"... Danny White, Craig Morton... funny thing was they didn't win Super Bowls. It took a Vietnam Vet with bandy legs, broken fingers and nose with multiple concussions named Staubach and another Californian who was sacked 11 times in one game against the Eagles to win a couple of more Super Bowls.
My point is that you and the press can't predict what makes a team gel. New York is a bad place for Tebow because the press will be unrelenting in the "polarizing" angle. I'll be surprised if he's allowed in the city since he's so "polarizing". Compare his won loss to Cam Newton's and then compare the teams each had.
Tebow would do well in the New England shotgun like Brady has but was stuck behind center most of the games till the last 10 minutes.
Look at his record in the SEC for passing. Look at how he did last year against the Texans, and this season against several teams. He is the most hated player I've ever seen in my many years of following the National Felon League. And it's ALL about his in your face Christianity. He real sin... was the pro life commercial with his mom. From that point on he's been labeled as "polarizing" and must be destroyed. I'm hoping he does well but from what I can gather Tebow will be fine with whatever comes his way.
He's got a solid foundation to be a good guy. That's what's going to drive his critics crazy. He's going to just live his life and work as hard as he can. If it's good enough he'll start or be given a chance, if he doesn't start he'll get his money, run his orphanage and hospital, visit the sick and continue on with his life. Being a Christian doesn't weaken a person, it gives them strength and perspective.
Now, that can usually be mentored, if the team has a reasonable intelligent QB(not counting JaMarcus Russell), and a decent quarterback coach. Usually though the best mentor would be a veteran successful QB. If Elway didn't have his head up his ass, he would know he had the winning cards right there in his hands-- Tebow, being mentored by Manning as a starter.
Ten-four. I’m an old fart of 72 years, and about 30 seconds after clicking the “Post” button I realized my mistake, did a Homer Simpson, by bumping my forehead with my fist and shouting, “D’oh!” But it was toooooo late!
Speaking of Bradshaw and the Steelers, Terry wrote a book quite a few years ago: “LOOKING DEEP” wherein he told about the Super Bowl wins and what it was like playing for Chuck Noll. Apparently Noll was a real cold fish. Bradshaw said that in all those years, and all those wins, etc., Noll never once so much as told him, “Attaboy” or ANYTHING!
I guess a person could now say that Elway is proof positive that being a good quarterback in the NFL does not require any minimum intelligence quotient.
