Einstein once said, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.'
It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats .... yet they are still POOR.
"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves."
Abraham Lincoln
And yet this president and the democrats continues to do the same-------------
Awesome with facts .....
Also add to the list of final sayings:
“It is impossible to tax yourself into prosperity.”
“Socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money.”
“Success for Republicans is getting more people off welfare. Success for Democrats is getting more people on welfare.”
“When another citizen takes something from you against your will, it’s called ‘stealing’. When government takes something from you against your will, they call it ‘redistribution’.”
“Liberals believe there isn’t anything that can’t be fixed by more government in everyone’s lives. Conservatives believe almost all problems people have are BECAUSE of more government in everyone’s lives.”
“Ask a liberal for solutions to today’s problems, and they always propose more spending of other people’s money, more intrusion of government into other people’s lives, and more restrictions on other people’s freedoms. Ask a conservative for solutions to today’s problems, and they will say stopping liberals from imposing their ‘solutions’ on everyone else’s lives.”

Until I saw the part about the population over 250,000 I wouldn’t have placed El Paso on that list. It’s got a huge military presence that is going to be growing over the next few years, but it is on the border, and a lot of the folks that could moved from Juarez to El Paso to get away from the violence.
What do these cities have in common??
Democrat-run El Paso had to work HARD to get on this list, Texas is one of the few places adding jobs and all those illegals working cheap should be a boon, right??

What is the authoritative source for this list? Someone just make it up? I can believe it, but not until someone cites the source.

I find these numbers unbelieveable and question their accuracy. More than a few hundred people living in Detroit voted for McCain. Gimme a break! Then again, maybe that town is finally starting to see the light.
These cities have been messed up for a long time, but they keep electing the same folks. That says a lot about the voters, but you cannot argue it hasn’t been a success for the Democrats. The politics of envy and class and race based grievances seem to work in the sense the Democrats keep getting reelected. So long as the government checks keep coming, I don’t see it changing anytime soon either.
Cincinnati is not poor.
I know this because the City just gave $1,000,000.00 to a black scoflaw named Liz Rogers to open up a “greens and beans” soul food place downtown.
The City is rolling in the money.

Source? (I’ve seen this before somewhere).
Detroit doesn’t even have enough police. If you get robbed they tell you that you don’t belong down there anyway.. An old man was car jacked and the cops never showed, he got a ride home from a customer at the gas station..
I would love to see the Grant Application.

Over 100 million people were murdered by their own Marxist governments in the twentieth century. Modern Marxists are sure they can top that.

Marx got his mentally retarded housekeeper pregnant. Lenin died of syphillis. Stalin slept with teen-aged girls. Mao slept with even younger children. Those are mere coincidences.

This is a forwarded E-mail
Interesting list (% of people below the poverty level). Thanks for posting. Having lived in SE Michigan (Detroit, metro Detroit) my entire life, it doesn’t surprise me that Detroit is #1. 45 years later and it hasn’t rebounded from the 1967 riots...and in many ways it is much worse off. It is a perfect example of the failure of corruption/socialism. Hopefully with Kwame a couple of years removed it has finally turned the corner...but then there’s Ficano...

Look...I think that most of us already agree that there is a significant and logical link between poverty and liberalism. But when you post a list like that without even posting the source of the list, itself, you make your post very questionable.
Is this the Forbes’ list, the Business Week list, the list from Money and Business? Is it the list of cities with populations over 250,000? What year is this list?
How about filling in the gaping holes here so the information is at least somewhat useful to those to read it...?
Disregard the previous question about the populations. I see you’ve provided that. But please fill in the rest of the gaps.
Where did Memphis rank....they are the welfare capitol of the state of TN along with being the highest crime rates.
It’s a forwarded e-mail - just search the title and a bunch of the same posts pop up all over message boards on the net.
Other message links have the links to the information - from 2007. I think I saw one from snopes too (didn’t click onto it)
I actually did do a search on this phrase: “10 poorest cities”
I got one thread...the one I just posted that request on.
http://www.google.com/search?ix=seb&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=10+Poorest+Cities+in+America
There’s a bunch of them (link above)
I was immediately curious too and looked a bit more for current stats - these are old numbers - most are liberal sites stating that the poorest states are republican.
I was searching FR... Did you find any report on Google/Yahoo where the list matched the one this guy posted?
Hey, but the Government Motors (Chrysler) commercials say that Detroit is making a comeback! / sarc
Yes - click the link on post #31

Yep, with cars built in Canada with parts made in Mexico.
American cities were already declining in the fifties and sixties, but forced busing, in my opinion, was what finally killed them. The white middle class started leaving in droves.
Thanks. Emailed it out to be passed on. Just like demo. presidents, huh!

It’s called e-mail, take it for what it’s worth...But I believe there’s a lot of truth there! What part don’t you believe? I wish F.R. had a special place to post political e-mail and people could read and forward them on if they wanted to? F.R. wouldn’t have to be responsible for the content. But they don’t and that’s why I put it here for lack of a better place. There are tons of good political e-mails out there. (IMHO) I think this e-mail is really putting it mildly!!The liberals who are running cities and towns all across this country are running them straight into the ground. Some through ignorance some by design to further the cause. Liberals love to be in control and have power over others. But more often than not are clueless behind the wheel.
If I use this information to bolster my argument for any purpose, and the person I am talking to asks, “Who says so?” and I have to tell him or her, “Well, it’s e-mail,” he or she is going to believe that I have a screw loose. You owe it to us to tell us who sent the e-mail, or who originated the data contained in the e-mail. Otherwise we have no way to verify the truthfulness of your information. Why should we believe you? That’s why information such as this has to be verified according to source. You hadn’t heard this before? I hope your weekend is going well. I spent part of mine re-watching “Cowboys and Aliens.”
Did Lincoln really speak of “class hatred” back in the 1860s? Do you have a source for these quotes?
it’s not because they haven’t elected a GOP mayor
lots of rich white cities full of pasty libs haven’t either
it’s cause these cities are heavily minority in the city proper
The voting numbers in most liberal cities are often exceed the number of eligible voters.
This information is not current (i.e., in 2009). The rankings may change in the year 2012.
