Obviously we will never know for sure. But how different would this race be right now in your opinion ? What would it look like ?
Would she have been just another piece in the "not romney" revolving door or would she have broke through ?
Would she have won the nomination ? and then the election ?
I honestly think Palin not running was the most significant event of the primary campaign to date.
I wish Daniels ran. Didn't happen. I work what what I have and voted for Santorum hoping for a brokered convention.
Palin would be winning.
Sarah Palin could still run and win it all. I hope she does. Do you hear me Sarah?
She’s 48, vibrant, can energize the base and anything is possible in politics.
Reagan was put on the RNC crap list when he spoke for Goldwater in the 64 convention, he ticked some off in 68 by running in the primaries. They said he was through but talent does find a way.
Perhaps it’s not her calling, perhaps she wants to do other things. The conservative base is BETTER when she entered the scene in 08....and she isn’t going away.
To paraphrase Yoda:
“Democrats, stopped they must be; on this all depends. Only a fully trained Jedi Knight, with the Force as his ally, will conquer Obama and his Emperor. If you end your training now - if you choose the quick and easy path as Obama did - you will become an agent of evil.”
I think Mitch Daniels would have been a great candidate.
There, fixed it.
Perhaps you don’t remember 2008??? That happens to the young, they forget the past.
It would have been that on steroids. Even the GOP-E were sharpening sabers every day...I am sure you remember the snarky comments from the likes of Krauthammer and Rove and Coulter.
There is a reason that decent people decide to opt out of politics
Sara,sara,sara,.... (sigh) if she were running rommney would be gone by now.
I actually think Mike Pence choosing not to run, Tim Pawlenty wimping out, and Rick Perry going off half-cocked were also serious problems.
As for the rest of the didn’t-runs, well it is easy to see them as white knights from here, but there would have been major problems with all and any of them.
Palin probably should have run, but she chose not to.
She will not become a white knight at the convention, I feel sure about that.
If Romney gets the nomination and we lose (GOD FORBID!!!!!!), personally I’ll be blaming Rick Perry.
He could have been a contender, instead of a bum, which he is.
She would have lapped the field.
I dont know that she would win the nomination, but she would have a real hard time winning the general.
If hed have thought that Palin would be his general election opponent, Obama wouldnt have dared to veto the Keystone Pipeline.
0%
Get over it.
As much as I like her...she would have been sliced and diced just like all the other candidates (Santorum is going thru the grinder now) and I think she knew it. Noone on our team is ten feet tall and bullet proof except Myth..and that is only temporary.
He was the Establishment choice from the beginning and the media is gleefully playing along until he gets the nomination.
I am praying for a brokered convention. The outcome may be the same...but maybe our voices can be heard. Hopefully Rick and Newt (and even Paul, for that matter) can stay in long enough to deny the delegates to Romney.
Sarah was very wise to abstain.
Palin/Ryan 2012. Sounds good to me.
Sorry. Terrible choice of a decent Yoda saying. Does not apply to situation.
Agreed. Totally. She was the only one who could have tapped the populist vote from Obama.
Well .. he’s not a bum .. when you consider he has the most profitable state in the Union .. and a state that’s one of the biggest in the Union; that’s a pretty good accomplishment.
He’s a spectacular Governor .. and who knows .. in 4 years he could make a better run.
I was betting on him too .. in fact I wanted Rick & Rick. A Governor and a former Senator .. makes a great team. They are both Christians - pro-life - that’s a great combination.
So, don’t be so willing to run Rick into the ground.
As for Mike Pence .. after he’s served as Governor, he’ll have just the right experience to be a presidential candidate. I really like him too.
I’m sorry Palin didn’t run too. I really wanted to see her take on the “elites” and put them in their place.
