Obama came to the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) at the Ohio State University to give an energy speech.
For this speech, OSU closed the RPAC and sent this announcement out via email.
"Special Announcement - Rec Sports Member Update From: Myers, Kristen Date: Wed, Mar 21, 2012 10:52 am
The RPAC and Lincoln Tower Park, including the tennis courts, will be closed for the entire day tomorrow, Thursday, March 22, due to President Obama’s visit. The RPAC will operate on normal hours on Friday, March 23. All other Rec Sports facilities will be open to members on Thursday."
The following email was sent out on Friday.
"Special Announcement - RPAC to close at Noon on Friday, March 23 From: Myers, Kristen Date: Fri, Mar 23, 2012 11:16 am
The RPAC will close on Friday, March 23 at Noon due to a loss of domestic water service. All other recreation facilities are open their regular hours. We apologize for the inconvenience."
My theory is that someone from the Obama adminstration lost something Thursday evening. Friday morning, they figured out that they could not find it and it must be in the RPAC. At that point they closed the building and went looking for it.
The RPAC is relatively new 220 million dollar facility completed in 2005. To my knowledge, it has never had an unscheduled closure since opening.
My question is "What did they lose and where did they lose it. "
Someone told me that Urban Meyer needed some extra footballs for spring practice since the previous staff took some home with them and he took the nuclear football by mistake.
Someone else told me that someone had found a first draft manuscript of a book titled "Why I still Hate America-by Michelle Obama".

Isn’t the “nuclear football” briefcase handcuffed with a chain to the president’s advisor/aide/SS escort or someone who’s always at his side? How does someone “lose” it?- Just curious.
It is carried by a military aide that never leaves the Presdient’s side. I spoke to a Colonel once that carried it. It weighs about 45 pounds.
