In yesterday's attack on the proposed Republican budget in the House, obama said "Hundreds of national parks would be forced to close for part or all of the year." (Transcript here). However, there are only 58 national parks (source here).

You mean in all 57 states, there are only 58 National Parks?

There you go. Reading and stating facts. The unicorn sanctuary and elvish hideouts are the hardest hit according to a triple blind dude on methadone.

Honestly...this 'president' is an absolute nimrod...
Doesn't this dick-cheese have any staffers that could fact check what he is going to speak about before he spouts off with his verbal diarrhea?

“You mean in all 57 states, there are only 58 National Parks?”
Barry: “Err, umm... That’s all? Err, umm... Well under my Administration we need to add additional parks to all 57 states so there WILL be 100 National Parks. Err, umm... That doesn’t add up. Err, umm... Let me get back with you. Meanwhile STOP the Republicans from closing those parks no matter what they add up to. O.K.?”

I was at Rocky Mountain National Park last week, ready to pay the entrance fee...but guess what?
NOBODY WAS ACCEPTING ANY MONEY!
I went through the gate 3 times (forgot my trail map back in Estes), traffic was not heavy, but at $10-80 bucks a pop, I’m sure the NPS was blowing at least $1,000 an hour!
I’m totally willing to pay the fee, BUT KEN SALAZAR would rather borrow the money from China!!!

By now EVERYONE should know what and who Obama is....well, someone might take exception to WHO he is because his absolute identity (name, SS#, etc) is still hidden but we have figured most of that out. The faux, narcissistic, self-driven world his mind lives in shows daily now.
It will be nice to have an American president back in the Oval Office again in January 2013 and many unemployed radical leftist czars.

I visited Craters of the Moon in Idaho last summer. The gate was open and unattended. The ranger apparently was on break or at lunch. Or something.
To: matt1234
Some would be closed more than once. For example: 58 parks X 10 closings on average = (slipping on computer glove, cypher, cypher , carry 1 plus 7 in...30 days has September, but February is cold....) Got it! hundreds of closings!

Cool place. Had never heard of it til my MIL mentioned she had been there -—when the lava was still cooling....

Here in Michigan I’ve found that I actually prefer the state parks and forests to the National. Seems that asking visitors to donate a few bucks goes a long way.
